I am scared for my family. Who knows what the trumpers are going to do. We saw what they are capable of on January 6, 2021. The irony of the gun rights activists is that they make me want to buy guns to protect myself from them.

I wasn't. If I had been out on the streets at midnight then yeah, probably.

Same. Or if I grabbed my rifle and drove to another state to start **** with Floyd protesters, I'd have been afraid too. But what kind of dumbass would do something like that? LOL

If you're scared like you stated you might want to stay home. Although I don't think your fear is founded in reality.

I believe nothing will happen and you and your family will be just fine so fear not!

I'm wondering how they are going to pick a jury. If people are honest during voir dire, then every one of them, except people who don't follow current events, and maybe those born abroad, will disqualify themselves with their answers.

Can trump choose to have a judge decide? Let him put his reputation on the line with a verdict

A couple of things are going to happen though. Trump will surrender to authorities sometime next week. His ego is going to prevent him from fleeing the country. He will enter a plea. He will be arraigned and post bail. Then it will go quiet from the legal side while Trump continues his antics.

For his supporters, I think they will protest in NYC when he surrenders. But I don't think they will do anything stupid like what they did on January 6th.

Any defendant can waive the right to trial by jury. They can waive the right for the jury to decided punishment. It is not recommended, but it is a definite possibility.

Most judges do not let ego or politics get in the way of jurisprudence at the state district level.

The questions for the judge is going to be the following:
    1. Should he allow cameras in the courtroom. CourtTV is probably going to petition to show the trial on live TV.
    2. Who will be allowed in the courtroom. Usually judges in high profilte cases, and this certainly qualifies as one, will allow only those who are either directly associated with the defendant and mayy allow some legal reporters to watch and observe, but probably not the general public.
    3. Will the judge place a gag order at the very beginning? In high profile cases, sometimes a judge may decide to place a gag order in order for the case to not be influenced by public opinion.
    4. Finally, what conditions will the judge place on Trump. Certainly, he will order the surrender of his passport. But will the judge allow him to leave NY state, will he be allowed to place some sort of monitoriing device on Trump, and how much bail will be posted. I am guessing $3 million or less.

My guess is NY will be closer to Times Square on New Years Eve vs the Capitol on J6 today....

    Hope I'm right...

Well, when phony charges are brought and elections are stolen people tend to get upset.

Just curious, but if strong evidence is presented in court does that still amount to a witch hunt?
Doesn't the fact that there are 30 charges brought about from a grand jury, not one person, kind of negate the term "witch hunt"?
Or are you so programmed that you cannot change your disposition?
