It is always good to be optimistic as long as there is some reality to the optimism, and it doesn't become fantasy while wishin' and hopin'.

That somehow Trump's summit with Kim would result in Kim disarming North Korea falls into the realm of fantasy. Life is not that simple, and Trump knows it. However, to him, everything is rhetoric. He fooled his base with meaningless rhetoric and they elected him President. He continues with the rhetoric. To Trump, actual accomplishments are far less important. It is all about perception, not reality.

That got him the Presidency, and Republicans in Congress continue to act like sheep, accepting all the B.S. he throws at them. Why stop now?

I said, Trump threw another U.S. ally under the bus. This time it was South Korea. Trump surprised the South Korean leadership when he announced plans to suspend military exercises on the Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean military has labeled the war games as provocative. “You know, I wanted to stop the war games, I thought they were very provocative,” Trump told George Stephanopoulos.

Putin and President Xi of China are enormously pleased that Trump canceled these military exercises in the their neck of the woods.

    I know that, comrade.

Before taking office people were assuming that we were going to War with North Korea. President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most dangerous problem. No longer - sleep well tonight!

Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!

As President, Trump makes a terrific stand-up comic. Let's examine those two tweets.

"Before taking office people were assuming that we were going to War with North Korea." We were? Most people had no idea war was eminent until Trump promised "fire and fury" if North Korea did something Trump didn't like. This is a good one.

"President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most dangerous problem." Well, that didn't mean Obama was going to start WWIII. Whatever gave Trump that idea? His wild imagination? It certainly wasn't common sense. A day doesn't go by that Trump doesn't blame Obama for something or other.

"No longer - sleep well tonight!" Most people will sleep well tonight, but that is beside the point.

"Everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office." Another real good one. Actually, the way Trump is trashing our allies like Canada and embracing communist dictators like Kim, Putin, and Xi Americans feel a lot less safe with Trump in office.

"There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea." Trump had to be laughing his fool head off when he told this whopper. What, Kim discarded all his nukes and ICBM's and nobody told me. Gosh, when did that happen? Well, according to Trump, this happened while he was sleeping on the plane. This joke was the best of the bunch.

"Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience." Mr. President, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Did you have a good time? Sure hope so. Flying 10,000 miles for a photo op, making security arrangements, hotel and all, cost the taxpayer a pretty penny.

"North Korea has great potential for the future!" Yes, providing they do what you tell them to do. If they don't, there will be hell to pay. We may get that war after all.

I'm telling you, this guy is a great comedian. He's hilarious.

Pompeo, Trump's SecState, indicated that Trump hoped to get the major steps of denuclearization in place before his term ends in January 2021. “Most certainly in the president’s first term,” he said. “You used the term ‘major disarmament,’ something like that? Yes, we’re hopeful that we can achieve that in the next, what is it, two and a half years, something like that.

I just have one question. Why is it we have a secretary of state who acts like the rational one and a President who acts like an idiot?

America's No. 1 enemy is not Russia for her aggression and for interfering in our election. It is not China for spying on us with ZTE cellphones and stealing our intellectual property. It is not Iran threatening to make nukes, missiles, and state sponsored terrorism. It is not Bashar al-Assad who has killed a half million of his people in a ruthless war with no end.

It certainly is not North Korea. Despite the hydrogen bomb and ICBM's, somehow Kim is no longer a threat because Trump met him and it was an "interesting and very positive experience."

Nope, America's No. 1 threat is none of these folks. According to President Trump, America's No.1 enemy is America's free press.

So funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN. They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea. 500 days ago they would have “begged” for this deal-looked like war would break out. Our Country’s biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools! [Emphasis is mine]

He bases his opinion on a lie, of course. "500 days ago they would have “begged” for this deal-looked like war would break out." No one knows what the hell he is talking about. It was Trump who threatened North Korea with "fire and fury."

But, then, he consistently does that. He blames others for his faults almost on a daily basis. It plays along nicely with his consistent lying and gross hyperbole.

This guy is begging to be impeached. I honestly do not think he cares. He will be in the spotlight.

Let me put this as simply as possible. I don't want our President "breaking down some walls" or making nice with a communist dictator who has murdered his uncle and brother, murdered an American citizen, has imprisoned tens of thousands in his gulags, imprisons his own people in starvation and mind control, and has threatened American territories and cities. This kind of man understands only one language, the language of authority.

Trump treated Kim like one of his best friends and gave away the ranch. Worse, he can get away with this because millions of Americans, also known as his gullible base, thinks he is doing the right thing and supports him when he gives in to the communist dictator. Worse still, most Republicans in Congress are acting like sheep and are doing nothing, party loyalty and all that. Most are Republicans first, Americans second.

    That's the real problem.

The United States has become very unpredictable in the eyes of its enemies. That is very good. A much better policy than to remain silent and when they act up pay them a bribe. He actually has you confused and that is good also. Now after years of cozying up to communists, the left is trying to claim we are the ones.....you are a comedian yourself. I remember Obama telling one comrade on a hot mike...."tell Putin I'll be much easier to deal with after the election". Remember, Trump told Kim he would be facing "fire and fury" if he threatened any American interest. Also the toughest santions were put into place. You seem to forget the tools that were use to get N.K to stop Nuclear and missile tests. You're just upset because previous adminstrations never tried that. Korea has been shown that we can be very tough or we can work in both interests. ,,,their choice. With Trump and Pompeo we have "good guy, bad guy" in the eyes of our enemies. Keep them guessing. Same strategy that has worked with leftists and the liberal press in America. You just can' figure it out. How does it feel to be out of control?? You've got 6 more years to soak in TDS.

Trump tweeted yesterday, "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea." In a very real sense, Trump is right, but that has nothing to do with anything he did.

Kim has not given one single sign that he is suicidal. Actually, the very opposite is true. His whole being, his entire purpose in life is the perpetuation of the Kim regime. Everything else is secondary, including the North Korean people and the North Korean economy.

Kim also has not given one single indication that he is stupid. Again, actually the opposite is true. He is intelligent, ambitious, ruthless, highly trained, and, as we can see from the recent summit, an able negotiator. He ate Trump's lunch, three major concessions at no cost to him. So, Kim knows that a nuclear attack on the U.S. would be the end of everything he holds dear, the Kim regime and his country becomes a nuclear wasteland.

Now we come to Trump. How will he react when he finally realizes he got taken? He probably knows that now, but he is busy churning out false propaganda for his gullible base. He can do that for only so long. As the weeks and months go by with no resolution of the Korean Problem, the more intelligent members of his base will begin to ask questions.

What will Trump do? For those who cross him, like Justin Trudeau of Canada and America's free press, Trump's anger and vindictiveness is well known. In a fit of anger will he order a preemptive surgical strike on a North Korean target, a nuclear facility as an example?

In that event, what will Kim do?

We do know this. Despite all the talk, nearly everyone has forgotten one important factor in all this. For over 60 years North Korean artillery batteries and missile brigades have been locked onto one target, Seoul and its port where 25 million people live. This should be factored into the equation.

In foreign affairs, Trump has proven himself to be impulsive, naive, incompetent and he is averse to taking advice from others with decades of experience, preferring to rely only on his seventeen months experience. He is the boss, and he does not let anyone forget it. His enormous immaturity was quite evident in the Singapore summit where he lost his shirt to the passive Kim. Trump did all the talking, and Kim walked away with all the benefits.

He is still acting like a lovestruck teenager, overwhelmed by Kim's charms. Look at his tweets. Look at his statements regarding the summit.

All this makes for a very dangerous combination, and, so far, Trump's two generals, Kelly and Mattis, have been silent as sheep. Neither has said a word about this summit in three months. Trump fired another general, H.R. McMasters, his NSA who had the temerity to speak his mind.

Trump hates that in an advisor.
