It IS possible to let in a wolf in sheeps clothing... should we take measures to protect ourself first, or refugees first?

This was not comparing refugees to skittles at all- that was the media trying to turn something logical (an analogy) into a smear. Shame on the Media- not the speaker.

He could have said a bowl of peanuts, or a bowl of gold nuggets or an assembly of brilliant engineers- and the message would be the same. If three of the group would kill you, how many would you take into your home?

Actually you seem to be missing the point of the complaint. Everyone gets the analogy. That is what people are upset about. Especially considering that you are something like 1000 times more likely to be victimized by a fellow American. In America one is far more likely to die due to the criminal actions of a white, right leaning man than someone from the Middle East.

Naw it is not "fake liberal outrage to a fabricated scandal" That is the tactics of conservatives. Though you are incorrect that it is a smear, you are correct that it is an issue that has been around for quite awhile. It is just another example of the bigotry that is so common on the right side of the political spectrum. It isn't as near a scandal as it is just reaffirming what everyone already knows.

 

I believe that what Donald Jr. really meant by the comparison with Skittles is:

1) They are 'colored' ppl
2)They are the 'little ppl'
3) They are bad for this country like the sugar that is ruining its health

No sir- that is not the point. This is a risk that we can control, not one that is already in existence and we are exposed to. We don't say- Well the threat here is less than cancer or some wacko killing you that we already have, so it must be taken- because there are alternatives. The message is not that we must not take in refugees either- it is that doing so presents this risk, and therefore due diligence in whom we consider is likely to save lives. Screening, background checks, vetting- or just saying no. Taking in refugees is a voluntary act; not a compulsory one. Doing so should be in the best interests of America- and that should be the first parameter considered.

 

Cool thing is....Junior here is one of his Dad's closest "advisors"....with the ability to over-ride saner voices like Kellyanne Conway who tries to keep Trump on his leash and muzzle.
