They are for doing away with the Electoral College, the last line of defense, and electing by popular vote the absolute top Commander in Chief of all that intelligence.

I just don’t think they are capable of getting it.

The investigation is ongoing and all the details and evidence has not been released. In this instance, Mr. Anonymous has only stated things the President did and reporters published. It's up to people to decide if Trump did the right thing or not, in telling very classified information of a national security matter, given to us by another country with the understanding that it wouldn't be shared, to Russians in exchange for nothing. Most do not see an impulsive whim as a good reason to compromise another country's intelligence asset, especially to the Russians. You have to make up your own mind about it.

We disagree on the media being counter culture. The media is the 5th estate and can bring things to the public's attention, even when corrupt people in the government don't want us to see it. When faced with a failing of humans in positions of power, the media helps us keep our democracy. That's why it is protected by the First Amendment. Think about that for a second. The founding fathers realized they left out some protections in the original Constitution, and the first thing they added was freedom of speech and the press. That should tell you the value of the media. We, as consumers of media, have to use our intelligence to digest it all, but it is there for a very good reason.

The fact that there is now a criminal investigation means they are looking at evidence of a possible crime. We won't know until the investigation is complete.

The question is not whether it was lawful or not. The question is whether it was appropriate… and it was not. In matters like that, sharing information with a more hostile country does happen, but with every morsel of information scrubbed of foreign assistance, danger to assets, and with the permission of the intelligence agencies, so that other missions are not compromised. Just because he can do it, doesn't mean he should. Russia is allied with Iran. Iran is the enemy of Israel. Israel gave us the information, with the express idea that we would not share it… but Trump did, with an ally of Israel's enemy.

The deal-maker in chief got nothing in return for sharing that information either.

This is not about me, Hillary Clinton, you and your security clearance, or anything else, other than Trump impulsively sharing code word classified intelligence, against an agreement with the country that shared it with us, to a country that just attacked us with cyber warfare.

There is no excuse for what he did. He did it on impulse. McMaster said so. There was no plan to do so. Thus an immediate call to the CIA for damage control.

You're spinning like a top to make this OK. Stop spinning. It's not OK. I just hope Trump learned a lesson from this episode and doesn't repeat this foolish and thoughtless behavior.

The spin was an issue before Trump, now it's a phenomenon of destruction. Truth, rational thought and accountability be damned.

In 1980 William Simon alleged that the media is the counter culture. News, he explained was the goal of print media
TV changed the goal to shaping the news.

This nonsense about Trump is shaped.
Were this a hurricane warning, anonymous would not be our source

Even though we may not know the named reporter, his report is not from anonymous.

Why accept shoddy reports on this?

Putin laughed over this and offers to produce a transcript. Actually he cleared Trump.

It seems that Trump cleared up this matter. He never brought up Israel
    Putin laughed at this.

Of course there is proof that Bush lied, misrepresented and created a false narrative in a rush to war.

Have you been living in a cave over the last 2 decades ?

Trump may not be the death of the republican party (although things are not looking good) Pence would definitely be the death of the parties chances going forward.

I only need one - not "lies" - to show that Bush lies but,

Saddam was in league with Al Qaeda/had connection to 911
Aluminum tubes were for nuclear purposes
    Niger yellowcake forgery
US homeland in "imminent danger of a Mushroom cloud" from Saddam
US homeland in "imminent danger" period from Saddam

Let me ask you this, if everyone put their name on the reports to the press of Trump mistakes and misdeed, do you think Trump would stop making mistakes and doing things wrong? Or would there be a tweetstorm, a firing, and the mistakes and misdeeds would continue? The purpose is to get Trump to stop doing the stupid stuff he is doing. He's the President, and represents 300+ million Americans. Most Americans don't want the country to be embarrassed by the stupid stuff Trump does. He doesn't listen to his advisors. He doesn't listen to his lawyers. He doesn't listen to anyone. He does what he wants, when he wants, how he wants, and when criticized, takes no responsibility for them and has a little temper tantrum on Twitter.

Why accept shoddy behavior from the President?

You make a lot of presumptions I don't think are true.
I chalk them up to the counterculture.

The US won't spin off the planet.

Bush never linked Saddam to AQ.
Colin Powell linked aluminum tubes to centrifuges, not bush
Saddam had tons of yellow cake. Do you know his suppliers?
Bush never said anything about immediate danger. George Bush repeated the Bill Clinton claims.

I wish we had good reporters.

The reporters aren't anonymous. Their name is right there on the byline. Their reputation is on the line, if the information isn't true. They verify it with others. They are just not naming their sources for a reason. We didn't know Deep Throat's name for decades, but eventually it was revealed. We are a country of laws. Without people being willing to come forward, knowing they may be putting their job on the line or risking jail time, powerful people would get away with all kind of nefarious shenanigans and crimes. They are patriots. It's not like some random unknown person makes a *69 phone call blocking their number and reporting lies that journalists immediately publish without verification. We're not talking about the National Enquirer reporting on a celebrity divorce. This is the Washington Post and the New York Times using their reporters, experience, and reputation to get out the news.

As to this story, Trump revealed exactly what he wasn't supposed to say today. Standing beside Netanyahu, he said he never used the word "Israel." The thing is, no one ever accused him of saying it came from Israel. They said, Russia wouldn't have a hard time figuring out where it came from because of the other details Trump gave them. Sometimes he is so stupid it hurts me to watch him.

I am snug at kauai. Reporters are the mouth of anonymous. Don't simply take their word as true. Sounds like you bought it hook, line and sinker.

I was asked by mr. Chunk about my statement I don't believe comments alleged to have came from anonymous. I accept that mr. Chunk is selling that story, in good faith.
