More lies from the orange swine?!! The US has not prevailed in anything but covid-19 deaths?!! Remember on March 6th, the fat orange pig, boasted anyone who wants a test can get a test?!! That was bullsh*t then and it's bullsh*t now too?!! By the way, I can't get a test either?!!

The White House on Monday sought to contain the fallout of positive coronavirus tests within its own walls, simultaneously projecting confidence about America’s readiness to reopen while implementing new protocols meant to limit exposure inside the building.

The juxtaposition was on full display at a press briefing in the Rose Garden.

Two giant banners hung behind the podium declaring “America leads the world in testing.”

Meanwhile, roughly a dozen White House officials seated a few feet apart from one another were all wearing masks, and speakers used a different podium several feet away from the president.

President Trump declared his administration had “prevailed” on testing. He cited the increase in testing resources, which have allowed the U.S. to conduct more than 9 million tests to date.

Like any psychopath, Trump won't understand the impact of this virus unless he gets sick himself.

Only his re-election and his company are of any importance to him, especially since he's facing bankruptcy.

So you'd prefer we didn't do a lot of testing?

Not sure what the whine is about in this post.

When Trump took office, the CDC/FDA rules required that the CDC develop all tests conducted in the U.S. and the FDA had to "test the tests" for safety and accuracy.

Under the previously long-established CDC/FDA rules, private labs would still be awaiting CDC/FDA scrutiny and approval.

Under the Trump administration, red tape was broken to allow private labs to develop and sell tests to states and to the federal government, with very-quick approval times by the CDC/FDA.

This is a new paradigm for pandemics, thanks to our current administration thinking more like a nimble business than like a stodgy, slow-moving, old, and highly-regimented bureaucratic machine.

Given the global shortage of raw materials necessary to actually run tests once testing is approved, I'd say, "Good job, Mr. President and thanks to the excellent work done by the task force team you organized."

I'll let you know a secret about the most important element in the management of a pandemic: THE TIMING.

Testing millions of people after the virus has killed 80,000 people is good, but it's very late.

If Trump had started this operation two months ago, tens of thousands of lives would have been saved.

But he couldn't do that, because he didn't care how dangerous the virus was.

Two months ago, we were still trying to get the CDC/FDA to loosen its iron-fisted grasp on our ingrained regulations.

Besides, we now have cases dating back to January (thanks to antibody testing). The horse left the barn many months ago before any country, except China, was doing any testing.

If you want to blame anyone, blame Xi Jinping for covering up another deadly virus until it escaped their borders and ran rampant throughout the world. But having a common enemy might unify the country, and there is no domestic political benefit to that, amiright?

The dems seem to think we should've had a trillion tests already manufactured and approved by the FDA for a virus we knew very little about, and those said tests should've been distributed to all areas of all states at the snap of a finger. They also seem to think taking the test would someone cure some of the virus.

I think it's probably more likely the dems are looking for anything to whine about.

We have the third largest population in the world. Woohoo!!!

If you have no symptoms, why do you need a test? There are plenty of tests available to test everyone with symptoms....plus test their close contacts from the previous 14 days.

There was far too much bumbling and fumbling within the government - early on - when other countries were organizing around testing. Today, Trump can boast claims of abundance of testing - but the horse is already out of the barn. If all the agencies of the government had worked together to get the testing out to the public early on, we wouldn't be locked down without an end in sight.

This is a great article which outlines the infighting and unpreparedness.

Hell, he was saying it is like the flu when we all knew it was a crisis. I remember sitting here gasping for several week as he flat out denied what we reasonable and rational people all knew to be true.

Note that trumpees call videos of trump quotes, "spin". What else would we expect from the alternative facts crowd?

    It's the CDC's fault now.

China + CDC + Fauci + Democrats + MSM + Nasty questions from bias journalists = Trump has no responsibility for the disaster we are experiencing.

What you will never be able to explain is why the vast majority of Western countries do better than U.S.

Having an viewpoint that differs from what President #45 says does not make one a "democrat", "leftist" or anti-American.
Recognizing this President's disregard for usual standards of veracity is objective, not partisan.
He has made far too many mendacious claims and statements to note, but certainly too many to take his version of anything on face value.

One of the first requirements of leadership is to take responsibility. Just not a strong suit with Trump. He, sadly, had a disjointed and disorganized administration in terms of health. It falls on him that the departments were not able to cope with the threat when it came. Now, he is playing catch up. If he understood the pandemic better, he would know that boasting - presently - about testing only makes him look worse. To boast 'number one in testing' at this present time is nothing to boast about at all.

Next tell us how and why there are more deaths per capita in Belgium, Spain, U.K., Italy, France, and the Netherlands than in the U.S.

Tell us how they fumbled and bumbled with their testing programs and their very generous government healthcare programs.

    I'll wait.

Did you see the video with New York Mayor DiBlasio telling New Yorkers to keep going out as normal because for most people getting coronavirus would be like getting a mild cold or flu? I saw that one.

We all knew it was a crisis. Wink. Wink.

Fact is, for most people, getting the virus is like getting the flu. How many people here who don't normally get the flu, got "the flu" around or shortly after the holidays (Dec-Feb)? I did.

Are they doing better, really? The population of the countries in the E.U. is approximately the same as the population of states in the U.S.

Total cases and deaths of the E.U. as a whole and compare them to the total cases and deaths of U.S. states.

I'm not interested in or looking to those countries to assess the competence and timeliness of response of my own country. If you feel that the administration did a great job - from the beginning - good for you. I don't.

One wonders why Cuomo has an 85% approval rating... double that of Trump.

Probably New Yorkers know that the President bears great responsibility for what happens to them.
