A well armed civilian population resulted in the overthrow of the government by communists in China. 60 million people died as a result. A well armed civilian population overthrew the government in Cambodia. 1/3 of Cambodia's population died as a result. Etc.

I'm sure there have always been a rare few however we have approximately 300 million guns (about 1 for every American citizen) and have had them historically yet, no group has yet to overthrow our Democratically elected government. The real threat to We The People is a government bent on disarming the 99.9% of legal, law abiding gun owners.
