it's sad that so many on the right can not see what a bad person Trump is... or just do not care

Republican senator who voted to convict Deranged Dotard speaks out on his third indictment

    Matt Berg
Wed, August 2, 2023 at 7:57 AM CDT

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski was the first Republican lawmaker who had voted to convict former President America's Shitstorm to publicly speak out about his third indictment as of Wednesday morning.

Murkowski, in a series of social media posts shortly after the indictment was handed down Tuesday evening, defended her decision to vote to convict Unemployed Criminal in a February 2021 Senate trial — following his second impeachment by the House — for inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, saying that she voted based on "clear evidence that he attempted to overturn the 2020 election after losing it."

"Additional evidence presented since then, including by the January 6 Commission, has only reinforced that the former President played a key role in instigating the riots, resulting in physical violence and desecration of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021," she said.

The cult will never quit him, though. He seriously could shoot someone and they would shrug it off, defend it or deny that it really happened.

The **** has happened to these people?

'Not a shock': Pinochetio world shrugs off charges of defrauding America
Even a third indictment doesn't seem like it will knock the former president off his perch as the front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.

    Aug. 2, 2023, 5:45 PM CDT
By Matt Dixon, Katherine Doyle, Allan Smith and Henry J. Gomez
It was just another Tuesday for former President Cheeto Golem.

He golfed at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, chatted with staff and club members there and was relatively nonchalant as he awaited something that is becoming a part of his new reality: being indicted.

Special counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday unsealed an indictment against Crybaby alleging he tried to undermine democracy by overturning the 2020 election and disenfranchising lawful votes. It is the third indictment Shaved Bear is facing and comes after months of investigation that included grand jury testimony from a range of witnesses, including former Vice President Mike Pence.

What happens to this party post-Trump? What becomes of his rabid supporters? They adore him the way any cultist adores a cult leader, but this cult is deeply entwined with our national politics and the future of our democracy, and it's probably the largest cult of personality ever to exist outside of an authoritarian country.

I'll believe it, when I see it presented, in a criminal court of law. Until then, Reps. James Comer and Jim Jordan, FYI, do not have more credibility as non partisan actors, than Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and our entire DOJ. If they did, that would be a reason for no one to trust the prosecution of Biden, when it came. But, of course, it will not likely come, because belief in the charges are nothing but the wishful thinking of people who are willing to dismiss the actions of our Justice Department, whenever a Democrat is in the White House, yet utterly support it, when there's a Republican in office, and his stooge AG is looking high & low for anything to charge against a Democrat, or to depict only Republicans, as the victims of "weaponized" government. The assertions of one with such a patently inconsistent perspective, are dismissible, on their face.

Everything to the MAGA people is a conspiracy. A conspiracy being flawlessly executed by a government headed up by someone they want to convince us has dementia. This same doddering old fool has also been able to hide a multi million dollar bribery scheme for almost a decade.

All of the conspiracies against Trump and the Republicans are being pulled off, mind you, by a government bureaucracy that couldn't keep a simple break in or a blow job a secret.

We are to believe ALL of that over the idea that Trump is just a corrupt moron.

I wonder if these people have even heard of Occam's Razor

Problem is that once you start prosecuting people for backroom political calculations and conversations, it won't be long before they come for you too.

You wish. And everybody can see... YOU are dead wrong.

Denial is a ploy- not something that creates truth. The truth is that Trump has been under attack since the moment he declared he would run for office. He had no political office or power, hadn't done a thing- but was immediately recognized as a threat that had to be stopped. Not because of anything he had done- but because of the values and mindset that he championed were immediately seen as a huge threat to the entrenched powers in politics.... the ideas, not the man, is what triggered the fear and gave birth to the vendetta to destroy Trump, and destroy the potential for those ideas and values. These are the ideas that make men free- and would make American citizens, like you- strong and independent. That is the threat to those who would control this nation.... Your strength, Your liberty, Your freedom. That is what drives despotic leaders- the need to keep you from gaining the power to control your own destiny..... and reject them.

That has been the objective from that first moment, and it hasn't changed. IF Trump surrendered his politics and left the field, never to speak of it again... The game would be over as far as the left is concerned, and they would have no motive to continue the assault- and no rationale to put themselves at further risk by behaving openly like nazis. They would have won. THAT IS FACT.

I have no doubt that the hate, the denial and the vendetta to destroy him and the values of freedom will be here to stay in the minds of many people. None of which validates it. I have no doubt some who believe the charade that began the day he announced will believe it till they die. Evidence doesn't matter to people unable to think independently- they are the pawns being used by the power. They are unable to process ideas that don't fit what they already believe. That is like a curse for such people, as it causes them to be constantly in conflict with life and reality. That is a human weakness everyone has to overcome if they are to ever gain control of their own lives. The left is using that weakness to control those who follow- and those who follow haven't a clue that is happening.

We have massive documentation of the holocaust. Films shot by the military, by the press core, by private citizens. We have survivors with prison id's tattooed on their arms. We have the German army's written records. Thousands of survivors and witnesses. We have the physical evidence of the sites- and the graves of millions. But we still have people, including intelligent people- who deny the Holocaust ever happened. We have people who deny that men have really visited the moon, that the earth is round and many other things that any rational person can easily prove to themselves unless they refuse to. And we have people who want to believe that the charges made against Trump are true because they have been conditioned to hate Trump. I think those people hate America too; they hate justice, they hate freedom, they hate honor. You can't endorse this vendetta, give it credibility- and still say you care about those things. The German leaders and armies of WWII managed to get themselves in similar psychological positions- and tell themselves it was righteous too. Within the human psyche, there are no limits to the degree of distortion we are capable of imposing on ourselves.

The vendetta is hardly invisible. It's as visible as the holocaust, as the spherical shape of planets---and as undeniable as gravity. IF you are alive and have a functioning brain- you know this is true, and that you are being deceived by yourself, refusing to believe what you know is true because you want to believe something else. The problem is that your condition is self-inflicted, and the only person who can alter that is you. Ask yourself what it is about living in a great and free nation that you fear so much as to surrender your independence to those who would make you grovel.

Trump is a victim who organizes riots and tries to criminally keep himself in power after losing the election.

And yet you still have enough freedom to come to this forum to complain about being persecuted by the left.

Do you have a problem if I don't cry?

He wasn't a "threat" because of his "values"

He was a threat because he was known to be a corrupt moron. And, surprise surprise, guess what he turned out to be once elected President? A corrupt moronic President. And now we are paying the price of putting such a person into the most powerful office in the nation (and maybe even the world)

Many of us knew, the moment he came down on that gaudy golden escalator to announce his candidacy, that this was a train wreck waiting to happen. What some of us didn't know (myself included) is that he was going to win. If had thought that Trump had a snowball's chance in hell of being elected in 2016 I would have worked harder to stop it. I would not have voted 3rd party (as I had for the last 30+ years) for President.

This has nothing to do with his political values (we knew he had none) or the fact that he was a Republican (I had voted Republican in the past). It came down to the simple fact that Donald J. Trump should NEVER had been let anywhere near the office of President of the United States. He lacked the temperament, intellect, experience, skill or even ability to negotiate that is needed for that job.

There have been average, below average and above average (and even some great) men that have been President. Trump was below, below average. Trump was (and is) the most wholly unsuited man for the job. I was naïve in thinking that the American Public would recognize this and reject him. I have never been more wrong in my life.

This is not a "vendetta" against someone I disagree with politically. This is a fight to save our country from a megalomaniacal idiot. I don't care if Trump runs as a Democrat, a Republican, a Libertarian or an Independent. He would STILL be the worst person who has held that job in my lifetime.

But worse still is what he has done to the Republicans. He has somehow turned a Republican party that once told a Republican President that they were going to impeach and remove him, into a collective of boot licking sycophants. A party that has sold out practically every value they claimed to hold in order to defend him so they can hold on to power.

The longer he stays in the national spot light, the more rot he is going to inflict on the GOP.

The real issue of course- is the legitimacy of this pursuit. That includes the charges, the ways the laws are being interpreted to use them for the process- and the integrity of those behind it.
While no agency has ever been without fault or without marginal people- the history of the FBI and DOJ has basically been respected and trusted. But the contrast between times that was true and today are vast, and we know that these agencies have become subject to a lot of political pressure. That invalidates their integrity, destroys the trust in them, and makes everything they do subject to questions of motive.

The real issue with this isn't just left or right power- but right or wrong use of power, regardless of who is doing it. I don't believe the nation can survive without justice, and justice has to be both fair and equal.
If it's not, we are becoming a banana republic controlled by dictators and crooks.

The people have been denied the truth about most things for a very long time, and that alone is a huge red flag. For example- the assassination of JFK. The investigation at the time had the distinct odor of a cover-up, and over 60 years later- the government still refuses to release all the documentation regarding it. Why? What's there, that after all this time, still needs to be concealed from the American people? The government has zero trust in the people- and wise people have no reason to trust the government. Things change with the party in power, but actual honor and integrity never seem to prevail.

Politics is rife with violation of not only law, but fundamental duties and the oaths to serve the constitution and the people that they all have sworn to. If we were to prosecute all who have violated that oath, DC would be a ghost town. We have to do better. Demand accountability and the power to enforce it. We cannot trust the government to clean it's own house- it never has, it never will.

I think he he believes he sees his chance to get the nomination by being one of the first to denounce tRump.

I'm pretty sure he's misjudged the situation.

We do NOT "know" that they have become subject to a lot of political pressure.

The Republicans (and specifically the Trump Republicans) CLAIM that they have. But if you want to be honest the ONLY "political pressure" we've been seeing is from the Trump Republicans. Liz Cheney is the poster child of political pressure.

From the stand point of Republican values Liz Cheney is the model Republican and yet she was removed from leadership by the Republican Party, she was voted out of her seat with the backing of the Republican Party. And her crime? The mortal sin she committed that resulted in her loss of position and, ultimately the loss of her Congressional seat? It wasn't a moral failing, it wasn't a legal scandal, it was that she dared speak out against Trump. She dared to say, "This man is unfit to be President". She dared join with other people from the other party to denounce the demagogue that sat in the White House.

And while she was the highest profile Republican, she was not the only one. Kinzinger, Newhouse, Rice, Upton, Beutler...all of them censured by their own party. And their only "crime" was to say, "I think Trump needs to be removed from office"

In the recent indictment against Donald Trump, Jack Smith has revealed (not so much revealed as corroborated) that Trump told the Justice Department "Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen." And THIS is the guy who is crying about the weaponization of the Justice Department? Give me a freaking break!

Justice DOES have to be fair and equal. And that means when someone breaks the law, no matter who they are, no matter what office they held or they are currently running for, they must be held accountable. THAT Is what these indictments are about. Holding a corrupt man responsible for his corruption.

If you remember nothing else about what Trump did after he lost the 2020 election, remember that quote above.

"Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen."

This isn't the statement of a man looking for corruption, this isn't the statement of a man convinced of corruption, this isn't the statement of a man who can prove corruption.

This is the statement of a corrupt man.

You can do anything you want TO YOURSELF. You don't have the right to destroy the rights of others to live independently as they see fit.
You have no doubt been told that many times. Start believing it.

And you have to call him a "corrupt moron" because you have no legitimate cases you can actually support without the malice and fraud of the left. Same argument from day 1.

There are thousands of posts here from the left. I've yet to see one that actually proposes a viable solution to any problem of any kind, except to get rid of anyone they don't like.
    Why is that?

In the meantime, your guru tried to disfranchise the vote of millions of Americans and he tried to force his VP to commit an unconstitutional act.

How many years in prison does that deserve?
