70/30 that he goes to prison.

The charges are way too serious to get away with less.

Yeah. I’d prefer he just be disqualified, but the senate put a kibosh on that.

Very bad optics if many of the 1/6 insurrectionists are spending years in a prison and Trump, the worst offender, gets to live in a Penthouse.

If you think there is a security concern then clear out an entire wing and make him the only prisoner.

I think you are underestimating the hoops the campaigners are jumping through to avoid criticizing Trump.

The question was how many years in prison does that deserve?

My answer would be more years than Trump has left.

Sorry for cutting part of your post out, but I had never tried the method of quoting just part of a post.
I only wanted to address this one part of your statement.
Trump has been under attack since he declared his presidential run.
He also was on the attack from the first moment.
All politicians come under attack when they run for office, it's the nature of the beast. But Trump made it way worse by being so offensive and thin skinned. He also demonizes anything he doesn't agree with, and a glorifies anything he does agree with. In other words, an extremist.
No one should be surprised that he was attacked a lot. He made sure there were plenty of reasons to attack him. Makes me want to puke when I hear his whining.

'LAWYERS WHO’VE DEFENDED clients before Tanya S. Chutkan, the judge assigned to Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 election conspiracy case, have some advice for the former president and his attorneys: buckle up.

Far from the more indulgent Aileen Cannon
, the judge overseeing Trump’s Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, attorneys tell Rolling Stone that Chutkan is perhaps the toughest judge he could’ve gotten in the Washington, D.C. district court.

“It’s probably the worst draw for Trump. She’s the worst judge he could’ve gotten handed,” one attorney with experience representing a January 6 defendant tells Rolling Stone. “She’s pleasant, she’s nice, and she’s fair, but she’s a tough judge with these January 6 cases.”

How so? Had the Senate convicted, he would have been ineligible to serve.
