I believe Trump's argument is not directed at any court or... any rational human being, for that matter. It's directed at his followers. I'm sure it sounds 100% rational to them.

After all, anybody who still believes the Big Lie at this point, or that January 6 was anything other than an insurrection incited by Trump, is unlikely to see anything but the "The Gospel Truth" in every single word he says.
