No, Goldwater had no plans on taking out the USSR. Now being tough with them and confronting them when need be was more to the truth. LBJ's Daisy Girl ad convinced most people to what you just stated. As to Vietnam, Goldwater told LBJ to either win that dang war or bring our boys home. He use a bit more colorful language though.

Barry Goldwater was basically my political mentor. Till this day a lot of my political views were formed and molded from him. Few people know Goldwater voted for the 1957 and 1960 civil rights bills, against the 1964 one because he thought some things in it was unconstitutional. He once said every lawmaker ought to check and make sure their bill is constitutional before they even think about how much good it would do. He was a man of principals. He also said what was on his mind and didn't mince words in doing so.

    if your statement is true
Could you please explain why obama won reelection
And would win again if he could run

Trump benefits from the fact that he is giving his supporters somebody to blame for their problems
    You know
All those brown people from south of the border
And of course all of the Muslims that want to kill us

He has given his followers two groups of people to openly hate

I will research it but I was sure
Goldwater voted against the 1964 civil rights because he thought
You cannot legislate the way a person thinks
Remember Goldwater was considered far right wing
And a member of the john birch society

Its true he firmly believed one couldn't legislate what is in a person's heart. But there were two parts in that bill he thought were unconstitutional.

Excellent find sir. From the civil war to the 1970's it had been the Democrats who were the party of no when it came to civil rights. In certain regards they still are. It is LBJ Great Society that destroyed the African American Family as surely as John C. Calhoun, another ardent Democrat, praised the Dred Scott decision.

I should not derail this thread but I did respect Goldwater. My Dad knew Goldwater wasn't going to destroy the USSR physically he just liked what Goldwater said. He maybe did think that the 1964 bill was unconstitutional but his fans in the deep South did not care why he was agin it all that they cared was that he was. Just because a man has principles does not mean that all those who vote for him vote on principles. But that is another thread.

Please explain to me where in the article does it prove that he did not
Believe that it was unconstitutional to have a law that requires a person to sell something to someone they do not want to be cause of their race

And many white conservatives were members of the NAACP
    Including Sean hannity

Many of us have debunked the old lying song sung by liars blaming the opposition to civil rights on the Democrats. For the 2,357, 223 rd time opposition to civil rights was from virtually all Southern Senators and Congressmen. The South was a solid Democratic party stronghold because it was that way before the Civil war and after. LBJ was partially correct that the Democratic party lost the South because of the civil rights and voting rights bills but he was wrong as to how long. It will be much longer than a generation it will be for several generations. No amount of lies, twisting the truth, or falsehoods will change the fact that Southerners were with the Democrats because the Republicans were blamed for destroying their way of life - slavery. They are now Republicans because the Democrats destroyed their way of life - Jim Crowism.

    Dems da facts !!!!

Interesting so more people think the same.

You obviously want to demean Trump supporters (as opposed to arguing against Trump's ideas which are easy enough for normal people to do), but "trumpeters" doesn't sound very demeaning.

Hillary already has a well used nicname, Hildebeast.

    hildebeast

Also spelled 'Hildebeest'. The name was logically derived from the African animal the wildebeest. There is also a comic book superhero called the Wildebeest.

The Hildebeast today said that she was unaware of any illicit relationship between President Bill Clinton and _.

Below is a quote from your link
I hope you understand he is saying he thinks it unconstitutional
To require by law a person or private company to abstain from racial a discriminating
    When hiring or
    providing accommodations for money
Read my original post concerning Barry Goldwater

    Here is the quote
I wish to make myself perfectly clear. The two portion so this bill to which I have constantly and consistently voiced objections, and which are of such overriding significance that they are determinative of my vote on the entire measure, are thoe which would embark the Federal Government on a regulatory course of action in the area of so-called "public accommodations" and in the area of employment--to be precise, Titles II and VII of the bill. I find no constitutional basis for the exercise of Federal regulatory authority in either of these areas; and I believe the attempted usurpation of such power to be a grave threat to the very essence of our basic system of government, namely, that of a constitutional government in which 50 sovereign states have reserved to themselves and to the people those powers not specifically granted to the central or Federal Government.

His campaign did a great job getting his supporters out and Romney didn't.

I in 5 Dems would vote for Trump if it comes down to The Trumpster vs Hillary.

Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they'd cross sides and vote for Trump...

You have debunked nothing. The Civil right act of 1964 does not pass with out the 80% Republican Support it received. And their is no doubt that LBJ's Great Society programs destroyed the African American family and has all but destroyed the Black Middle class. The only thing Nixon's Southern Strategy accomplished was to Convice Geo. Wallace to run as an independent after several failed attempts at a Presidential bid from within the Democratic Party. The curse of the current Republican party is not the Dixiecrats all of who are now dead and most of whom have been dead for more than 2 decades and almost all of whom were Democrats until the day they died but rather the heirs of the Old Scoop Jackson Democrats who left the Democrats in droves Beginning with the Nomination of George McGovern with the Anschluss ending with Jimmy Carter.
