So ONLY Donald Trump is required to represent his business at taxable value and not market value? Nobody else has to do that?

Engoron ruled that even though Trump had a legal appraisal done by a certified appraiser and he represented his property at that value, that he can't do so because NY had assessed the tax value of his property at much lower. And that because he did so, that's fraud.

Even an MSNBC host expressed surprise in this ruling. I agree it’s a targeted political attack and so does the analysts in all these write ups. Knowing the left is okay with politically ruining people at multiple levels should raise flags to any private business.

 

Do you know how common it is to over evaluate or under evaluate property values at tax season? All business owners have property values they can write off. None of them will get a professional appraisal right before tax season. Values will be over estimated or underestimated in almost all businesses. I am around enough business owners to know this can be a common mistake on either direction of the estimate.

As for estimates to banks, if the bank didn’t require a professional estimate it’s their risk. That’s part of their business.

This was an extreme ruling. So extreme even an MSNBC host questioned it as excessive. This very well could lead to more people leaving NY

I've wondered for a long time why Trump doesn't just pull all his businesses out of NY. I wonder how many people he employs at Trump Towers and the rest? I wonder how many would be made homeless? How many in the construction trade suddenly wouldn't have jobs? NYC would become a ghetto overnight I bet. Worse than now even. New Yorkers should be careful what they pray for.

I doubt this will bankrupt Donald Trump. Most likely he makes that much money every month. On principle, the whole thing is nauseating though.

 

We will see over the next couple of years whether that will hold true.
