    You have been misled.

““Neither Uranium One Inc. nor AMRZ holds a specific NRC export license. In order to export uranium from the United States, Uranium One Inc. or ARMZ would need to apply for and obtain a specific NRC license authorizing the exports of uranium for use in reactor fuel,” then-NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko wrote to Barrasso.
The NRC never issued an export license to the Russian firm, a fact so engrained in the narrative of the Uranium One controversy that it showed up in The Washington Post’s official fact-checker site this week. “We have noted repeatedly that extracted uranium could not be exported by Russia without a license, which Rosatom does not have,” the Post reported on Monday, linking to the 2011 Barrasso letter.

Yet NRC memos reviewed by The Hill show that it did approve the shipment of yellowcake uranium — the raw material used to make nuclear fuel and weapons — from the Russian-owned mines in the United States to Canada in 2012 through a third party. Later, the Obama administration approved some of that uranium going all the way to Europe, government documents show.”

And those licenses were for shipping ONLY from the US to Canada and back and were NOT part of the Uranium One deal.

And let's not forget that neither the State Department NOR any of the other EIGHT agencies who signed off on the deal before it was passed to the White House for APPROVAL had the ability to either approve or deny it...

All they could do was offer their input individually (as one of nine agencies) for the President to revue. Approval or denial rested SOLEY with the White House

Are you claiming that somebody couldn't be bought off. Almost everybody has their price.

The first defense was that the uranium remained in the US. Now we know that was a lie. The DOS was the prime mover in the deal. Why else would Putin/Russia give The Clintons over $100 million? Personal friendship?

Is there still any real doubt that The Clintons were bought off? Of course they were bought off.

When Barrack Obama was president, there was many investigations of wrong doings within his administration. The FBI was also willing to lie and hide facts about these numerous investigations. It was very frustrating knowing people was being allowed to investigate themselves, or buy off the FBI, "We'll make them an offer they can't refuse".

It seems your frustration is no different than the frustration from those of the opposition during the Obama administration.

It sucks doesn't it? All these lies and deceptions, even the MSM is only reporting matters that benefit their "political party", and ignoring matters that harm them (They love not the truth). The veil will be lifted at some point, hopefully it doesn't take as long as JFK files. Which shows that everything within that investigation was a lie. So why do people feel that what is being said by the government today, is true?

It's a shame American's have to stay divided during such times of political corruption. We should be coming together and demanding far better from our leaders, instead of arguing back and forth with each other.

I meant to distribute Uranium one. Couldn't somebody be bought off, I realize it would have to be someone at the top, but is it possible?

Mueller must be amused by the Catch 22 aspect of his status as a Republican Trump Justice Department Special Counsel who received copious plaudits from Newtie et al when appointed.

Competent. Impartial. Thorough. The man to delve into sordid machinations involving a hostile foreign power conspiring to subvert a US presidential election - as confirmed by the FBI, NSA, and CIA.

Did Mueller have the prescience to realize that the high regard in which he was held depended upon failure? If he only would occasionally report, "Damn, I kaint find doodly squat!" he would retain his eminent status as intrepid, circumspect, and fair.

Whenever there are any indications that he is making progress, doing his job, there are crazy people ranting that he must be stopped.

Then there are the frenetic diversionists. They want him to emulate the fool looking for his lost keys under the lamp post because the light is better, despite his having lost them elsewhere, in a dark place.

Stay away from those dark places, Mr Mueller!

    There demons dwell!

You would be better served by dealing with current issues like those presented in post #1248 than a seven-year old matter no one is paying attention to any more.

Do you have a comment on those revelations? Those developments are far more important to Trump than the worthless Uranium One deal.

What is the statute of limitations on treason?

“3. The State Department Signed Off on the Deal but Hillary Clinton Wasn’t Involved, Her Campaign Contended

    Hillary Clinton. (Getty)
The Washington Post reports that the State Department was involved.

“The State Department was one of nine agencies comprising CFIUS, which vets potential national security impacts of transactions where a foreign government gains control of a U.S. company,” The Post wrote.
The Post noted that Clinton’s campaign said “Clinton herself was not involved in the State Department’s review and did not direct the department to take any position on the sale of Uranium One.”
However, the New York Times article, from 2015, noted, “Shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One, Mr. Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.”

Now more collusion between The Clintons and Russia/Putin has been exposed.

“Panetta continued, “I really do think that the committee is going to have to get into this, determine just exactly what happened. Who knew what and when?”

Blitzer followed up by asking Panetta why Clinton campaign attorney Marc Elias didn’t tell Clinton campaign chair, John Podesta, they had paid for the dossier.
Elias was the lawyer was represented the Clinton campaign and DNC, during the election and is alleged to have paid Fusion GPS for the Trump dossier.
“Well, it certainly makes the situation very awkward,” Panetta said. “If you’re testifying and saying you have no knowledge, and the attorney sitting next to you is one of those that knew what was involved here, I think it does raise an issue that the committee is going to have to look at and determine just exactly who knew what.””

This is a hoot. This is hard to believe, even for Trump.

    Steve Benen writes:

Donald Trump’s years-long affinity for conspiracy theories has long alarmed his critics, raising questions about his judgment and ability to understand evidence. Yesterday’s reporting, however, takes those questions to a very different level.

At the urging of President Donald Trump, CIA Director Mike Pompeo met last month with a former U.S. intelligence official who advocates a fringe theory that the hack of the Democrats during the election was an inside job and not the work of Russian intelligence, the former official told NBC News.

“He’s trying to find some factual evidence,” said Bill Binney, a former code-breaker at the National Security Agency.

Binney left the agency in 2000 and has become a self-styled whistleblower, making unsupported claims that the NSA is collecting and storing nearly every U.S. communication. His meeting with Pompeo was first reported by The Intercept, an internet news site.

NBC News confirmed with Binney, a frequent guest on Fox News and the Kremlin’s RT, that he met with the CIA director, and Pompeo told him that he took the meeting at the urging of the President.

Pompeo and everyone else in the U.S. intelligence community knows, Russian agents, not DNC officials, were responsible for the attack on the American elections last year. It might make Trump feel better to believe nonsense, but taking this a step further, though, if the President embraced conspiratorial silliness and used it to publish strange tweets, it would merely be annoying. The fact that Trump told the director of the Central Intelligence Agency to have a conversation with someone peddling a discredited conspiracy theory is something else entirely. Fact is, it is downright funny.

It is possible Trump learned about Binney and his analysis by watching Fox News, where Binney has been a frequent guest, appearing at least 10 times since September 2016.

Can anyone take Trump seriously anymore?

Do you realize how silly you look? Some of us are dealing with events that affect the current administration. They are very serious and conspiracy against the U.S. may be involved.

You are dealing with a seven-year old event that has been largely discarded by the news media, most legitimate conservative sources, and the Trump White House.

If you are presenting yourself as a Trump supporter, your ludicrous attempt at diversion makes Trump look even more guilty.

So, go ahead, knock yourself out. All you are doing is proving my point, while making yourself look foolish.

You know a person is guilty when his supporters keep changing the subject instead of defending him.

    More "old events":

“Former Podesta Group Executive Says Firm Peddled Russian Oligarchs All Over DC With Paul Manafort” [VIDEO]

“What was previously widely suspected has now been confirmed. In its latest bombshell report that - for once - doesn’t include some nefarious allegations of wrongdoing or incompetence involving President Donald Trump or members of his administration, the Washington Post reported Tuesday that the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign jointly financed the creation of the infamous “Trump dossier," which helped inspire the launch of the floundering investigations into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians.”

The Clinton campaign hired someone to investigate Trump. So what?

Trump paid people to investigate Clinton. So what?

The dossier is, indeed, "infamous" to supporters and writers associated with Trump. "Floundering" does not even begin to describe the various investigations of Trump. The writer knows nothing about those investigations because the Congressional committees and Mueller have not released their findings.

The writer of this article got nearly everything wrong. You need to pick better sources.

There are times one wonders how some people got elected. One such example is Congressman Matt Gaetz.

According to Vanity Fair, "a group of conservative Republicans lawmakers has taken the Russian collusion counter-narrative embraced by Donald Trump and run with it, turning the conspiracy theory born out of the far-right fringe into a clarion call for congressional action. On Wednesday, Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz took the House floor to emphatically call for the resignation of Robert Mueller, arguing that the former F.B.I. director has “indisputable conflicts of interest” that prevent him from objectively leading the rapidly escalating Justice Department investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government."

“We are at risk of a coup d’état in this country if we allow an unaccountable person with no oversight to undermine the duly elected president of the United States,” Gaetz said, according to The Hill. “That is precisely what is happening right now with the indisputable conflicts of interest that are present with Mr. Mueller and others at the Department of Justice.”

Apparently, Mueller is doing a good job. Trump lackeys in Congress want to fire his ass.

At one end of the political spectrum we have an idiot talking about a coup d’état in America. At the other end of the political spectrum we have an idiot talking about impeachment. The former is ludicrous. The latter a possibility sometime in the future.

    The crooks took the 5th.

“Last week, Fusion GPS executives invoked their constitutional right not to answer questions from the House Intelligence Committee. The firm’s founder, Glenn Simpson, had previously given a 10-hour interview to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Over objections from Democrats, the Republican leader of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (Calif.), subpoenaed Fusion GPS’s bank records to try to identify the mystery client.”
