Mike Flynn was once my favorite target. For those interested in the Russian probe and the collaboration of Trump's staff with the Russians, Flynn was a prosecutor's dream.

As a private citizen he interfered with the policies of the President in relation to a hostile foreign power, Russia. Later, Trump appointed him his national security advisor. Later still, Flynn lied about his phone call to the Russian ambassador and was fired. Russia has paid Flynn thousands of dollars for services rendered. He didn't bother telling his boss he was an agent for a foreign government.

There has been so much other evidence against Trump and his staff, Flynn was temporarily forgotten.

Now he is back, and if Trump is afraid of what Papa knows, he will scared out of his wits with Flynn. Unlike Papa, Flynn was a senior very active member of Trump's campaign team.

    The Washington Post writes:

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and his team are no strangers to the practice of prosecutorial hardball. That skill may be coming into play once again if, as news reports indicate, the special counsel is turning his attention to former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn and Flynn’s son Michael G. Flynn, who worked with his father’s lobbying firm and was also involved in the Trump transition. The elder Flynn has long been thought to be in Mueller’s sights, and CNN reported Wednesday that Flynn and his wife are worried about their son’s legal exposure as well.

If in fact prosecutors have built cases against both men, they now have a huge, juicy carrot to dangle in front of the elder Flynn: Plead guilty and testify against others, and we’ll go easy on your son. Given the former national security adviser’s prior positions with the Trump campaign and administration, that prospect has to make other potential targets of Mueller’s inquiry extremely uneasy.

That's it? Do you have any idea how many times Trump and his associates have lied about collaboration with the Russians? That is somewhat trivial because it is certainly plausible that Clinton and Schultz did not know anything about the dossier.

What you are saying is, lying about who paid for the dossier is the offense. That hiring the investigator was not the offense. The act itself was not an offense. Lying about it was.

That is very thin. That is your idea of controversy? Is that the best you can do? Compared with collaboration with the Russians, being paid by the Russians in the case of Flynn, Manafort, and Gates, alleged lying about who paid for the dossier is a big, fat zero.

I'm sorry. I don't see your point. How does your reply relate to my question? "The Clinton campaign hired someone to investigate Trump. So what?"

This is not a controversy, but Trump and Trumpians are trying to make it one. As Mueller is closing in, they are getting more and more desperate.

Hiring a law firm to hide the fact that hiring a foreign national to get information from Russians tied to the FSB to affect an election is not controversial?

I noticed you three don't dare touch the Flynn post (1276). As a matter of fact, you three won't touch any of the evidence provided. Instead, you three pretend the evidence doesn't exist and try to create imaginary controversies involving the long defunct Clinton campaign.

Your clumsy attempts are actually rather humorous.

Are you serious? Of course not. That is standard procedure in Washington. That and having lobbyists do the dirty work. Are you that naive?

Compare that to the number of times Trump and his associates have lied about this matter. All have lied to Americans. Some have lied to the FBI. That is a federal offense. They have lied countless times. You compare that to hiring a law firm?

    Boy, you are really desperate.

I'm not sure who you're trying to portray as desperate. The point I am making is that the dossier and those connected to it's creation are all poised to suffer from it. Clinton violated FEC laws funding it. Glenn Simpson has perjured himself while testifying about it. Steeles being sued for just sharing it. No one save a few PF posters wants to be associated with it. Not the author, not the publisher, not Coie, the DNC or Clinton. But, if you're not opposed to Clinton being jailed for breaking FEC laws, or Simpson for perjury, "so what indeed".

Try and stay current. Mueller reportedly investigating whether Flynn plotted to kidnap a Turkish dissident. I don't care what Flynn did to enrich himself, or affect foreign policy. He did so without anyones knowledge. Try harder.

Yup, The Republican Congress still has not revealed their evidence against the Republican President. Do you suppose there is a connection? Actually, it is more like ten months.

Doesn't really matter. If you have been following along, you know that Mueller is closing in.

If what you say is true about Clinton, I could give a rat's ass. I don't care if she goes to jail, but I consider that possibility very remote. Too bad.

The reason I asked is, what possible connection is that to this thread involving Trump and his closest associates and relatives and the mounting evidence against them?

I have never used the Steele dossier because it has not been authenticated. What does the Steele dossier, Clinton, and Fusion have to do with this thread?

Answer: Nothing. As a Trump supporter, you can't defend Trump. So, you are trying to change the subject. It won't work.

Try to stay current. I am aware of the kidnap plot, but I have not mentioned it because I require more proof of its veracity. Don't criticize me for something I have never mentioned.

You see, there is a great deal about Flynn that I do intend to use. For example:

Flynn was a foreign agent for Turkey while being deeply involved with Trump and his election campaign.

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who was fired in February after lying about his contacts with the Russian government, has formally registered with the Justice Department as a “foreign agent” and admitted that he had lobbied on behalf of the Turkish government as recently as November 2016.

As the Associated Press reports, Flynn’s lawyer filed paperwork with the Justice Department Tuesday disclosing that the retired Army general had done lobbying work between August and November 2016 that “could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey.” According to the filing, Flynn’s company, Flynn Intel Group Inc., was paid at least $530,000 for the work.

"I don't care what Flynn did to enrich himself, or affect foreign policy. He did so without anyones knowledge. Try harder." You can't be serious. He was a senior member of Trump's campaign team. Acting for the President-elect, as a private citizen he made a deal with the Russians. Later Trump appointed him his national security advisor. Trump fired him for lying to the veep.

It is a little late to say you don't care. Mueller does.

There are two possibilities for Trump's grotesque error in judgment, both having to do with his monstrous ego.

First, while no one is claiming his Presidency is illegitimate, Trump refuses to accept that the Russians helped him in the election. He wants the victory all to himself even though his election deserves an asterisk. He was elected by 25% of the electorate because 90 million Americans were too disgusted with both candidates to vote. Also, as bad as Hillary was as a candidate, Trump lost the popular vote by nearly three million votes. He was not elected by Americans as he and his supporters often claim since 75% of Americans did not chose him as their President. He has no mandate.

Second, Trump likes to be sensational. As President, he has a history of starting controversies because he wants to be the center of attention. Why else would he be so foolish as to reject the assessment of his own intelligence agencies, his own appointees and advisors, and side with the ruler of a hostile foreign power? Why else would he stir up a hornet's nest at home with such a statement? Why else is he alone on the planet with the view that the Russian interference in our election is a hoax? Trump is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons, but he simply doesn't care. He is the star. That is all that matters to him.

Perhaps he should stop and ask himself a question. Does acting stupid accomplish anything in the long run?

Or, perhaps, Americans should ask themselves a question. Does Trump want to accomplish anything or is this one big reality show with him as the protagonist in the drama?

Some may be confused. That is because once again, Trump wants it both ways. Put a different way, he says one thing one day. Then, because what he said was incredibly stupid, he tries to take it all back the next day. It is typical Trump and it stems from the fact that he has no core beliefs. Unfortunately, one can't un-ring a bell.

On Saturday, he said, "Every time he sees me, he says, 'I didn't do that. And I believe, I really believe, that when he tells me that, he means it."

"I think he is very insulted by it," Trump added.

Also, Trump on Saturday lashed out at U.S. intelligence leaders for their conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, calling them “political hacks” and slamming the investigations into Russian interference as a “Democratic hit job.”

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump blasted former U.S. intelligence officials by name, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former FBI Director James Comey.

"I mean, give me a break, they are political hacks," Trump said.

On Sunday, Trump said, “I believe that he feels that he and Russia did not meddle in the election,” Trump said of Putin at the joint news conference with Vietnam's President Tran Dai Quang.

Then he completely reversed himself and said, “As to whether I believe it, I'm with our agencies. As currently led by fine people, I believe very much in our intelligence agencies.”

The first statement on Sunday is beyond comprehension. Russia meddles in American elections, and Putin knows nothing about it? Well, that is what Trump said.

The second sentence is just plain ludicrous. Aware that he called intell officials under Obama political hacks, he is trying to say he believes the current crop of intell officials that he appointed. The statement is ludicrous because the two sets of intell officials are saying the same thing. That is, Russia interfered in our elections on Trump's behalf.

Is Trump now saying that is no longer a hoax? Who knows. We will wait and see what he says on Monday.

Vox link could not be found.

Where do you expect this evidence to come from? The Republican Congress, of course, and that is very convenient. They have been investigating now for about eleven months, and the Republican Congress has yet released any of its findings related to the Republican President. Do you see any connection?

The secret testimony with the secret documents in the secret hearings remain a deep dark secret.

On the other hand, this thread contains a huge volume of evidence, all of which you ignored. Why is that?

In the meantime, Mueller is doing his thing. He is being methodical and he doesn't leak. Simply because Mueller is holding back the evidence until he is ready doesn't mean there is no evidence.

Unless you are Gregg Jarrett of Fox News on the Trump Network.

NBC reports, "The British publicist who helped set up the fateful meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a group of Russians at Trump Tower in June 2016 is ready to meet with special counsel Robert Mueller's office, according to several people familiar with the matter.

"Rob Goldstone has been living in Bangkok, Thailand, but has been communicating with Mueller's office through his lawyer, said a source close to Goldstone.

"Goldstone's New York lawyer, G. Robert Gage, declined to comment other than to say, "nothing is presently scheduled."

"However, sources close to Goldstone and familiar with the investigation say they expect he will travel to the United States at some point "in the near future," as one put it."

The special counsel Robert Mueller has asked the Justice Department to hand over thousands of documents related to the firing of James Comey as FBI director, including any communications between the White House and the department around the time that Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation into Russia's election interference.

ABC News reported late Sunday that the document request came amid Mueller's continuing examination of whether Trump sought to obstruct justice when he fired Comey, who was leading the FBI's investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the election.

The request for emails between the White House and the DOJ related to Sessions' recusal could help Mueller determine why Trump has expressed anger at Sessions relinquishing control over the campaign-related investigations to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in March.

One possible meaning of a decision by Mike Flynn's legal team to cut off communication with Trump's team is that Flynn, the former White House national security adviser, is about to roll over and provide incriminating information about Trump and members of his inner circle, which includes family, to special counsel Robert Mueller.

The New York Times reported on Thursday that “the notification led Mr. Trump's lawyers to believe that Mr. Flynn — who, along with his son, is seen as having significant criminal exposure — has, at the least, begun discussions with Mr. Mueller about cooperating.” That's a logical conclusion because, as the Times's Michael S. Schmidt, Matt Apuzzo and Maggie Haberman explained, “it is unethical for lawyers to work together when one client is cooperating with prosecutors and another is still under investigation.”

Norman Eisen — President Barack Obama's White House ethics czar, now a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution — tweeted that personal experience with Mueller leads him to believe that Flynn could implicate Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner or even the President himself.

Trump has not held a White House press conference where the press corps can ask him questions since February, and that one was a disaster for him. Trump has a tendency to hold news conferences on the front lawn of the White House to the accompaniment of Marine One's chopper blades, making it hard for viewers to hear Trump's answers while reporters' questions can't be heard. He has refused to release his tax returns as he promised earlier. He lied. Now his tax returns are being placed in a safe by the IRS. That is a first. Obstruction, anyone?

It is abundantly clear that Trump is hiding something.

It is certainly plausible, given the circumstances, that Putin has something on Trump. That would be extremely dangerous to our national security.

Mueller is closing in. He will find out what is going on.

He has to. We can't go on like this.
