Something any mature adult should know is that people who find conflict with everything are usually in conflict with themselves.
Fact is often even with life- and often angry that life hasn't met what they see as it's responsibility to make them happy.
This might have many descriptions such as malcontent, but it's primary cause is the perceptions of entitlement, and the idea that they are controlled by others.
If you think you have no control over your life but others do, then the path to what you want is- punishing or in some way controlling those who you think control you.

Feelings hurt? Punish the person you think did it. Don't like the what you think people are thinking? Attack them in some obtuse manner that labels them all as conspiring against you. Poor? Punish the person who is rich, because they have obviously taken your share of the pie. Didn't get the job or prize you wanted? Blame the people who could have given it to you. Call them racists or whatever label serves your purpose- make it all about entitlement and injustice instead of your merits. Enable the complainers... because you are one of them. Enable the victims of prejudice, because you are one of them. Enable those who suffer injustice, because you are one of them.

There is an urgent need for relief of the unhappy status- and that gives these people severe myopia or near-sighted perception. Fix today, right now- with no grasp of the fact that tomorrow will be here in a moment, and they will again have failed to prepare for the future. This is how individuals achieve economic and functional failure... and governments achieve economic and functional failure.

This is a mindset of unhappy people. But never look to yourself, to your performance, your contribution, your competence. Never admit you have made a mistake... and keep doing it over and over.

It's not just democrats, but it is most common among democrats and the left. These are the people who tend to think that the measure of a great society is their personal happiness and satisfaction, rather than their participation and contribution. To them, society is like the cow that is here to provide the milk they drink and the hamburgers the eat- at the same time. And of course, they like a good goose dinner, and the golden goose is on the menu whenever possible. Sometimes I think it's like a plague of immaturity, of childish, irrational mindsets. That saddens me, because I am fully aware that all these people could be so much more that they are choosing to be.

People in those positions aren't victims of anything but their own beliefs and decisions- and there is little we can do for them. But what we can do for society is to not embrace that mindset, not accommodate the delusions it produces, not let it overwhelm the values of a society and drag everyone down to that level, or get to the point we have to allow that nonsense to have a voice at the table of reason or in the voices of public office- which is happening, right now. It can't be placated, because both the problems of these people and the answers lie within themselves. The are capable of being better people and better citizens- they choose not to. Always easier to blame others for your problems than to face them and accept responsibility- and that failure insures they will continue to grow.

an economy exists not to protect capitalists from the consequences of their folly, but to move the necessary and desirable products of labor to those who need or want those products.

The demand curve comes from the collective demand of a product so the collective buyers are rewarded in capitalism. This shouldn't be rocket science.
