According to the Journal, others are:

    • Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar, which is moving ahead with a restructuring that includes shifting jobs from a Joliet, Ill., factory to Monterrey, Mexico.
    • Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor, which is going ahead with Japan’s JFE Steel to build a new plant in Mexico.
    • Manitowoc Foodservice Inc, which has laid off about 80 workers at a factory near Sellersburg, Ind., as part of its already announced plans to shift much of the production to facilities in Mexico.
    • Ford Motor Co., which though it's scrapping plans to build a new factory in Mexico and instead create 700 new U.S. job, announced last month it would still shift production of its Focus small car from Michigan to an existing Mexican facility.
    • General Motors Co., which is moving more production to Mexico even as it's continuing with pre-election plans to add more jobs in the United States.

And companies are still planning more moves out of country.
Maybe instead of focusing on a wall and DACA. He should put the campaign promise of bringing jobs back as a bigger priority.

So why are jobs still leaving and not many coming back?
Maybe those issues are a big reason for jobs leaving?
Maybe wages is a bigger part of the equation?

We will still lose jobs to cheap overseas wages but we can stem the flow with lower corporate taxes. You do what you can and Trump is doing his best to encourage corporations to stay put or even come back.

It's been 1 year tWump has been in office. These are companies still planning on moving jobs, in spite of that list someone posted.

So, wages seem to be a major factor. Taxes are very little.

Lower corporate taxes allow US corporations to compete in a world market where foreign corporations sell the same goods to the same customers but have lower taxes than us. As for keeping jobs home the lower taxes could well be the tipping point in the decision making process with a company trying to decide to move out of the US or not. I'd be interested to hear how you think higher taxes on corporations would encourage them to stay in America.

If you actually gave a damn you would be all over your liberal buddies in Congress for not repealing the out of control H1B visas but you aren't, so obviously you don't.

I'd say wages are a bigger part of the equation but we can't lower wages to third world country levels. We can however lower corporate taxes to be cost competitive with their competition and to levels they would pay if they left America. You do what you can.

I don't think corporate taxes period, make a big difference in whether jobs stay or go. But I'm no economist or accountant. A mere engineer. And I've not heard any good reason how taxes on profits affect jobs.

Most far lefties don't understand business at all. If you allow a continuous supply of cheap labor wages will never go up but they have decided to care more about illegal immigrants than American citizens.

President Trump has done exactly NOTHING to shut down the government.

You should Google it. It may surprise you but the President does not get to vote on legislation in the US Senate, contrary to your apparent belief.

Your article says the cause of jobs going overseas is due to high US tax rates.

Corporate taxes are a cost of business. If you get taxed less in another country you are more likely to go to that country. If taxes are lower and you stay in America it makes you more cost competitive with foreign corporations that pay less taxes. It's really a very simple concept.

He opened his mouth. That's all it took. Back tracked on a possible deal.
Lied, bring me something, I will sign it.
The only truth he speaks is constant lying.

They are moving the labor jobs, not the corporate headquarters.
Now if you're referring to FICA as the taxes, OK. ButFICA has been a very good program.

Good point on wages in America and how illegal immigration drive wages down. I know skilled builders that had to leave the south west and come up north where I live because the illegal immigrants were doing work so cheap in Arizona and California.

Good article on that you should read.

"Wisconsin manufacturer Johnson Controls announced last month that it would merge with Tyco International and also move its headquarters to Ireland. That is expected to save the company $150 million a year in taxes and make it easier for it to access $8 billion in unrepatriated income."

Why would you concern yourself with jobs?
