If it's more contagious, it's because it's new, with no built in herd immunity to it yet; but the flu is likely more virulent. In the US alone, about 40,000 die each year from the flu. Were their deaths any less important than the covid deaths of this year? Or is mask wearing just a woke political stunt designed to further derail the US economy and the president.

Did you know that even WHO doesn't recommend masks, other than for those in the healthcare industry?

 

We know how to treat the flu. The number of people who die from the flu is huge in our country because we don't have, like all other industrialized nations in the world have (and many third-world nations), a universal healthcare system.

I'll answer it for you so you don't struggle: less! And that's the purpose of the article. In order to justify that Trump, in all his stupidity, refuses to wear a mask, they feel they must convince his supporters to not wear one in solidarity. So they will use words like "self-important elite snobbery and hypocrisy" to describe anybody who does promote its use.

You said it was a simple question. It's actually a simple matter. But when you have to explain it to people who are unable to understand simple matters, explaining it becomes a task.
