What an odd reply. Do you find yourself waking up in the night screaming Trump? Where in the OP was trump mentioned?

 

Easy... because the narrative among the blindest Trump loyalists is that, to support Trump, they need to convince people to not wear masks. Because "the idol" doesn't wear one. Only in countries where the head of state has decided to politicize the pandemic (ours being the most notable) is wearing a mask even part of any debate. They just wear it. And it has worked for them very well. And not so well for us.

Only the most extremist Trump loyalists (I am not allowed to use the word that best describes them) think this is about anything other than stopping the pandemic. I don't care if they work for MSNBC, Fox, CNN or ... Radio Gaga.... To any of them I would say "wear a mask you f***ng idiot!!!"

I have no idea who that cameraman supports for President. But stupidity is non-partisan.

 

LOL... what a load. The right answer is this. If you leave your house, you are able to make a choice. If you choose to wear a mask, fine. Why not? The science tells us that said masks are entirely unable to either stop or otherwise reduce your risk of exposure, so the choice to wear a mask seems entirely superficial not scientific. I thought you folks were about the science? It sure doesn't seem so. But it is about the choice, as opposed to the dictate that one must wear them because the state told you to. I know, it's the dream of every little power hungry grub on the left to enforce their world view, but at some point, you have to stop and ask real and hard questions of whether that tyranny is in fact a something that is appropriate in our country.

LOL... it isn't wrong. The truth is that a mask if there to protect others from you, but even the best masks are unable to filter down to under 3-4 microns, and Wuhan Flu is 1.7 microns. Means, there is zero value. After this, you probably should stop lecturing anyone about science...

 

What I see is young folks who were forced to live as if they were dead now coming back to life.

Still, it couldn't be that hot in Wisconsin yet and my advice is to wear a mask -- not because the left is trying to force you to -- but because you decide to control your risk. You should always decide what is in your own best interest and not listen to experts.

 

Are you saying that an infected person with the virus wearing a mask, which makes them less likely to infect others, does not help keep the virus from spreading?

Did you know that a large part of the transmission comes from asymptomatic carriers? I was assuming everybody knew that by now. I mean, it was almost two months ago that the Governor of Georgia was ridiculed because he had "just found out" something that everybody else knew months before. Am I to assume that, even now... all the way up to end of May... you didn't know that?

As a result of the above, Georgia is one of the states that is doing worse in the crisis. So it's important that people know basic things like this by now.

 

My thought is that if you're infected, you shouldn't be out. Aren't we trying to protect folks? Does it make you feel empowered, nay, entitled, if you're wearing a mask that you could still infect others?

We are learning more and more about TDS every day.

One increasingly common symptom that we have observed, especially as the election draws near, is that sufferers can be confronted on literally any subject that expressly does not involve Trump, and a 3 step process begins...

1. They completely ignore whatever non Trump argument was made
2. They proceed to insert their own Trump argument into the others mouth
3. They argue against the Trump argument they just bogusly injected into that person's mouth.

At first glance, it may look like a run of the mill strawman argument, but make no bones about it, this is an undeniable offshoot of TDS and rather than revealing a desire to be underhanded which is typically the case with a strawman argument, it simply reveals a mindset more deserving of pity rather than anger because it truly is pathetic. In the more severe cases such as in this instance, the TDS sufferer skips step 2 and goes directly to step 3 without bothering to verbalize the argument that they are inserting into the others mouth.

Your mask protects other people, and other people's masks protect you. That's how people stop the virus from spreading.

LOL.. you see that just scientifically isn't the case. The virus cannot be stopped by a mask because it is too small for the mask to effectively block it. So, now what? more dancing around the fire? What stops the virus from spreading, theoretically was folks staying home long enough not to get infected, wasn't it. That wasn't effective, so now what? Indefinite lock down? Perhaps democrats shouldn't have shipped sick folks to nursing homes. Or perhaps democrats should have shut down their ports to international travel. Any of those things would have been infinitely more successful that expecting that you mask will protect you. So here's a thing. If you leave your house, and you don't wear a mask, should I have you arrested for the potential that you might be infected and thus are endangering the rest of us? That seems to be the tact that democrats want to inflict on us. And if, I have been tested, and I don't present a harm to anyone, should I still have to wear a mask since it doesn't actually protect me? Hard questions. None of which you're going to willingly admit or answer. But here you are, claiming smug over a conversation you're clearly not ready to have.

 

A mask does not prevent the spread of the virus. Apparently you are rejecting science.

 

Of course!!!! Why else do you think this is even controversial? Not even in Brasil (which is a close second to us in mismanagement) does anybody doubt that people should wear masks. Even their very own home-grown idiot-President wears one.

 

So, do you think the MSNBC Cameraman who wasn't wearing a mask, the Anchorman who was apparently not concerned that he wasn't wearing a mask, and/or MSNBC H.R. who aren't enforcing a company policy to wear masks (assuming one even exists), are 'blind Trump loyalists'?

Because it really seems more likely to me that they're just pushing a narrative that they don't themselves believe. Which iirc is just simple hypocrisy.
