Virus death rate is .5 precent

You’ll see that’s simply false once the republican states open up for business and the democrats try to keep theirs locked down as long as possible.

What’s even better is that the people will recognize it and the democrats will either be forced to reopen their states due to civil unrest or risk getting annihilated in November.

 

Bullshit. If red states open up and infection rates DON"T rise...blue states will follow and we'll be happy as clams.

However if those infection rates DO rise?

Only to people who don't understand that the rates will -necessarily- rise when the states open back up - which, apparently, includes you.

The states closed down to prevent their heath care systems from being overwhelmed by CV19 patents that required hospitalization and nothing more -- and now we're past that danger.

B. Thats the rate . Divide the number of deaths by 1 million and you get .059. That's actually SIX percent

The death rate is tiny, 0.3% or less. You know it, you just refuse to admit it as it does not fit your narrative of horror.

0.3% would still be 3x as lethal as the seasonal flu.

But you and I both know that you don't have any reason for believing that it is 0.3%.

We also have extensive reason to believe that the number of deaths are being undercounted as well.

And it only takes 1 unreported death compared to 20 unreported infections to maintain a mortality rate of 5%.

 

It is a way to compare various areas.
If it bothers you count deaths. If you really want to see what's going on look at the percent of positives.
But please stop.

FWIW, three million Americans are injured, crippled and killed every year in auto accidents. But we still drive. And the majority don't even practice basic safe driving anymore. It's just; go when you can, stop when you have to, and don't get clocked by Smokey. Still we drive. Even the common flu infects tens of millions and kills tens of thousands every flu season by the same means that the corona virus is killing people. And still we carry on as if it weren't even a blip on our radar screens. The 2017-2018 flu season killed between sixty and eighty thousand Americans. And it meant essentially nothing. No panic, no masks and gloves, no runs on hand sanitizer and toilet paper, nothing was closed, no social distancing, NADA. So we mourn the dead, comfort the grieving and go to work as facts of life. Why then are we so disrupted by the corona virus? Is it political? Is the Trump administration afraid of being accused by the left of killing people? Is it over reaction? Have Americans become so unhealthy that a new virus is too much to bear? Are we victims of conceptual theory? Have we gone collectively insane? Maybe Pelosi and DeBlasio were right, or I should say, not wrong, when they advised everyone to visit their local eatery.

 

Pretty sure it's because Covid-19 is a novel and highly contagious virus.

We expect to lose thousands to the flu every year. The same is true of cancer, cars, heart attacks, stroke, choking, etc.

But Covid-19 literally just started killing Americans about five weeks ago. We did not expect this brand new virus and we have no antivirals or vaccines or antibodies for this virus. Left uncheck, the virus will continue to infect exponentially and even if 1% of Americans are killed, that is 3 million dead from one cause in one year.

That's why everything ground to a halt. Not politics.
