huh....what has....mate it must have been filmed a while ago as his evil Ming-the-Merciless plans to rule the world have gone down the crapper in one huge great big flush....mind you I bet is Generals aren't laughing I'd imagine they're cacking themselves...:roflol:....poor lambs!!

I mean we're at....what is it day 5 of the "invasion", and the poor old Russian squaddies are still farting around in the fields, freezing their bollocks off with their commanders floundering around trying to figure out how to make a dent in a massively out manned out gunned Ukrainian militia!!?? I mean even you must be a wee bit confused at the cognitive dissonance coming out of the Kremlin; their weird narrative versus the fact that the Russian troops are being dog phucked!! Don't get me wrong I know you have to be on this forum doing your "Comical Ali" routine...but seriously mate its becoming embarrassing for the Russian High Command.

How can it be that you guys have been sitting on the border for months and months...planning and scheming and gaming outcomes and alternatives and then after 5 days of crossing you've achieved nothing!!

Your man Putin was probably laughing at the explanations from his Generals....

Your bonds are now junk, your currency is worthless, your economy is going down the toilet.....the poor average Russian is being screwed sideways and for what.....for some weird version of Putin's maniacal vision of a bygone era....anyway.....you keep doing your Comical Ali routine if it gives you comfort....:)

One day Siberia will be the largest province in China.

I heard Chairman Mao 2.0 isn't terribly happy with the Shirtless Wonder in Moscow...

Now Vlad the Invader's going to have to make like his Mongol ancestors to get back in Beijing's good graces.

So think about it - a Memorial person is arrested for 'pedophilia'
    Makes sense
Russia can't arrest a Memorial person for being a member of Memorial can they?
Like the journalist arrested for 'carrying explosives' last week. The day after his wife gave
a speech at Ukraine embassy in Washington. So Russia can't arrest a journalist for having
a loud mouthed wife, can they? Wonder why they didn't charge the hapless journalist with
pedophilia - it would be a harder time for him in jail.

And oh, our friend Navalny was charged for 'embezzlement.' Navalny drew up the list of
embezzling oligarchs that the West should sanction. Brave man indeed in his fight against
Russian corruption. More time has now been tacked onto his sentence as he was due to get
out of jail next year - another 15 years isn't it? What this time? Pedophilia in prison, or maybe
    'carrying explosives.'

I am so amused that it is now the Oligarchs having their trillions frozen in foreign banks, and
even in Spain one had his yatch sunk. I would like to see Ukraine get hold of cruise missiles
and target Putin's super-mansions (the ones with gold plated taps.) And if Kiev is shelled to the
ground then start firing cruise missiles at Moscow.

Don't forget the equally neutral Sweden and the equally since end of WW-2 neutral Finns! They too have decided to come out of their neutrality!
Unfortunately, something happened for Putin that he and his government gang didn't expect:
His criminal lie-based attack has united the West so tightly, gave NATO a fountain of youth and even the dissenters in the EU like Orban in Hungary are joining in... and even Erdogan and Turkey are reunited with the West! Also Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea are against Russia and helping Ukraine!
China too...who have their own problems with the US, are neutral on all things...remember they didn't vote for, against, or even veto Russia in the UN Security Council...they did contain!
And as far as we in Germany are concerned, dear Destroyer ...
German society was in a state of "La La make love not war rigidity" ... own military is only a necessary evil and every arms export is evil, even the arms manufacturers in Germany are evil!
Putin turned that around 180° in German society and except for the post-communists, everyone understood that Putin in 2022 is the Hitler of 1939!

Thank you Putin for this necessary impulse for the West, the EU, the NATO and for my country!

    And why not?
If the people rebel against a despot who has manipulated the elections in his favor and who makes decisions against the will of the clear majority of his people, then it can quickly happen that the despot then experiences his "Maidan" and has to flee to Russia!
On the other hand Vis...I never had a problem with Crimea going to Russia and I wouldn't have a problem with Donbass going to Russia either...just comparing it with Kosovo shows that it is would be ok.
But ... since Putin obviously wants to bring the whole of Ukraine under his control, my sympathy for Putin and Russia is unfortunately completely gone!
This is now a criminal war of aggression based on lies, like that of Bush Jr. in 2003 against Iraq and also that of Hilter (and later also Stalin) in 1939 against Poland.

Dude... please be careful with this topic, it can quickly end up in propaganda bullshit as well.
It is a fact that Milosevic was a bastard of a dictator and it is also a fact that the Serbs committed massacres in Kosovo.
But it is also a fact that the UCK rebels in Kosovo also committed massacres on Serbs ... only here in the West are the Serbs always emphasized, these done by the UCK are rarely addressed, if at all.
In the Donbass we have the same situation, that the Ukrainian militias actually did some massacres, but vice versa, various groups among the pro-Russian separatists also massacred Ukrainians ... but the Russian propaganda only mentions the Ukrainian massacres, of course, concealed and denied their own.
Like a coin, everything always has 2 sides ... and an edge in between ;-)

Probably still a good idea to stock up on stuff given the general geopolitical climate right now. Or just for natural disasters.

You don't 'weigh' misdemeanors by combatants of each nation. Mostly young conscripts. That gives a shallow
picture of vast strategic, ideological and moral issues. You may as well compare Sth Korea to Nth Korea because
of Seoul's previous dictators and human rights abuses - or compare Taiwan to Red China because both did some
    nasty things.
The moral weight lies with Ukraine because it's a sovereign nation that has chosen to be a part of Europe. And it
has been invaded for this major reason. You presumably are a part of the wealthy and free West, why can't other
nations chose to be a part of it too?

Sure ... that Putin attacks complete Ukraine is a crime, no doubts.
But about pure sovereignity ... Kosovo was part of Serbia for centuries ... where was the respect for this sovereignity left then? Same situation as with Donbass at least...

And honestly ... as far as this attack is now a crime of course ... let any Centralamerican country make a sovereign decision to cuddle with Russia or China as Ukraine wants with the West ... you can start the countdown until the USA will shown this country that this was a bad decision in all consequences and by giving a crap on the sovereignity of this country. Isn't it?

Well there's Venezuela, as of yet no American administration has chosen to invade it.
Canada, Mexica, Central and South America are not occupied by America.
I would just like to hear the American Left say that Russia should go home and no
    excuses or finger pointing.
Not that it matters - Putin has an albatros around his neck, and he's bitten off more
than he can chew with 40 million people who hate him, and an economy tanking fast.

Then let me play devil's advocate...
Yes, nothing has happened to Venezuela so far, or nothing really happened, that's right.
But you and I know that despite the total poverty and chaos in the country, Venezuela is swimming in oil!
We have a world power very thirsty for oil - China! Let the two make a cooperation in terms of China helping Venezuela economically, getting a lot of cheap oil in return and Venezuela allowing Chinese military forces to be stationed in Venezuela.
    What would happen?
You will find the answer in the US's dealings with all countries in the Caribbean and Central America as soon as something happened that was and is against US interests ... most recently in 2009 in Honduras, where the government at the time was no longer compatible with US interests and the CIA then persuaded the military to stage a coup. Incidentally, the then new government has so far only been recognized by the USA and the countries that depend on the USA and do not allow themselves to say "no", etc. ...

Think about the invasion of the island of Grenada. Yes, that was during the cold war, right...but doesn't matter in terms of respecting another country's sovereignty!
Think about Panama and Noriega...yes, the Noriega was a bastard, no question, but a bastard put into office by the US at the time. But when he didn't bend to the will of the US and was aggressively belligerent...and continued to do his drug deals...plus the Panama Canal etc...Panama sovereignty was uninteresting.
And Panama itself... the country used to be part of Colombia, which was in a way a competitor to the USA at the time. When that came with the Kamal, the USA started a massive rebellion and whoops what very quickly the region was no longer part of Colombia and a puppet state of the USA.

You've heard the old saying, 'He might be a bastard but he's OUR bastard.'
A common refrain with the dictators of Sth America, SE Asia and the Middle East.
    Brutally frank, and utterly practical.
What would YOU do if you were Jimmy Carter - tell the Shah to gun down the
demonstrators, or accept an Islamist state which will rule the Shia world and
    break forever nuclear non-profileration.
Would YOU accept the corruption of Taiwanese or Sth Korean rulers, or let
    them fall to the Communists?

But this is playing into the 'you too' brigade. Are you going to use the same
    arguments if Russia attacks Finland?

America doesn't have a Greater America mentality where its oligarchs will
strip new acquired nations of their wealth and crush their aspirations.

You have to believe in your country. If you find faults with your own liberal
democracy and allow some Fascist to take your country then you have played
    the fool.

Sure ... but that's exactly the ... sorry, unfortunately mainly the USA hypocrisy as point of view in the whole thing!
Yes, he's a bastard, but our bastard... fine, the other side just says the same thing, but then it's evil!
It's like a criminal accusing another criminal of being a criminal...
And yes ... of course I don't live in a pink "La La World" etc. ... but that doesn't change the facts and that's why I fully understand, for example, if Crimea and Donbass go to Russia, but not an inch more than the two areas. Precisely because we allowed and supported exactly the same thing in Kosovo that Russia and the separatists had been denied here for the last years!

The current full attack on Ukraine is another story of course ... :)

If some organization in Russia is not recognized as terrorist, then no one arrests its members for belonging to this organization. Russia is not the United States, where people can be kept in prison for many years without presenting any evidence of their guilt at all. For example, in Guantonamo.

This is not true. In the photo, the Americans are destroying Indians along ethnic lines.
