It is pointless, he does not seem to grasp reality.

Or the issues behind a battery pack that would weigh over 5 tons.

10 stations are fully operable in Europe. By the end of 2023, Nio plans to have 120 such stations across Europe.

    So is it still impossible?

Are we talking about the US, or Europe?

Is this the same as the Tesla Semi?

    No, and no.

    Have a nice day.

The car market is a global industry. You said that automatic battery replacement is impossible. it can be done in the same time as it takes to refuel an ICE car. You have been proved wrong

The operation can all be scaled up. Batteries are modular, connected in parallel. Not hard to do at all

Fine. How many cars from China are sold in the US? Why can't you buy a Land Rover Defender in the US?

    Have a nice day.

I'm curious what point you are trying to make.

Cars sold in the US come from Europe, Japan, Mexico, and Korea. US Car makers rely on sales in Europe, Australia, and other countries.

Tesla exported 165,000 cars from China in the first 3/4 of 2022. I don't know about 2022, but in other years Teslas built in China have sold in America.

China is moving to being EV sales in Europe.

Autos absolutely are a global industry.

    Maybe you meant something else??

Land Rover pulled the plug on that vehicle more than 20 years ago as it didn't meet US safety standards and they didn't want to fix that.

Anybody can manufacture a car that's sold in the US. It's the design that's hard to do. Although Chinese companies have been threatening to come to the US market for some time, they have yet to actually do it.

Mostly because US standards are the toughest in the world.

Please cite evidence of any of that.

And, remember that China is choosing to move into Europe first.

Don't give me that tired, lazy crock of shiite. Look the standards up yourself. EPA's are in Part 40 of the CFR and NHTSA's are in Part 48.

That, and try naming a Chinese designed vehicle sold in the US. Duh.

Where the standards are kept is not at issue.

And, maybe you should go to China to fix their international automobile strategy.

Do they need help? Choosing to sell in this country is their choice.

You repeatedly expressed concern about that for some reason.

Well, some other idiots tried to convince me that replacing the battery pack in a Tesla semi truck could be done in a couple minutes. And then they offered up some Chinese program that swaps out battery packs in China as proof. You're not alone in not being able to stay on topic.

It's the 27.5% tariff on cars imported from China that currently stops Chinese cars being sold in the US. Nio plans to start selling cars in the US in 2025. You have no clue

The Tesla's made in China are exactly the same as Teslas made in the US except for different batteries.

Great. So how much does the battery of a Tesla semi weigh? After all, you appear to believe you're the smartest person here.

It makes no difference what a battery weighs. Batteries are modular and can be swapped singularly, in twos, in fours or whatever combination needed in exactly the same way as shown in the video. If there is a market, battery swapping in trucks will happen. It's not impossible like you claimed

No, it is the added expense of having to comply with US safety standards. Even with that added tariff, a Chinese car sold as it is in China would cost just under $19,000. However, that car does not meet safety standards, and the final price would be considerably higher.

And who cares if US cars sold in China are the same as the US. US safety standards exceed those of China. So that is a real non-issue.

EU car safety standards are higher than US car safety standards. Chinese cars are sold in the EU
