They could (very ironically) be made in very unsanitary sweatshop conditions as seen in this video:

As you may likely have already suspected, very few things are manufactured in America anymore, and that includes most of the facemasks you might buy. Most of them are imported from other poorer countries.

Ah the benefits of free trade!

Factory caught reusing facemasks to sell again as new in Thailand

Chinese factory worker seen in video laughing as he rubs his shoes on thousands of facemasks

Some Chinese factories may not be as clean as others.

~ Yes indeed ! Some may well be infected with Wuhan virus - but likely dead by the time it gets to destination. Many made in China are defective.

At most the virus remains active for hours to a few days on surfaces. Nothing shipping from overseas will still be infectious when it arrives.

One test only showed the virus remaining active on cloth for a matter of hours.

I saw one study that suggested the virus could remain viable in cloth for up to 2 days.

Do you really want to be breathing through something that had live virus on it a week ago?
It's possible the viability period might be much longer than that if the virus was contained in a clot of mucus that got stuck onto the mask.

True, but the greed comes from the government. You can't expect to tax and regulate our businesses and think they won't send manufacturing to China.

BTW, you enjoy luxuries most people on the planet only dream about. Your own greed is extreme by comparison.

Most problems in the USA stem from the export of the jobs which US citizens formerly had.

scam artist are everywhere including in US. which is why buy it from reliable vendor, and not recommend to buy from ebay. most 3M/honeywell N95 mask are made in China and used all over the world, the quality has been assured by 3M/honeywell. there is big difference between back alley factory vs large factory that traditional making mask or has contract with 3m/honeywell.

    People demand low cost products.
Many demand they be union made.
    Pick one.
Corporations hate regulations and high taxes.
Other countries offer fewer regulations and low or no taxes
    Guess who wins?

Corporate tax rates used to be 51 percent and jobs stayed here . Why? Because no president would disembowel America for thr elites..

That is the difference Wall street didnt have the power to change our economy. Then they got it .

51% is greedy and excessive. I agree with you on Wall St. but they are not using it to buy bombs!

Good point. 2 of the 3 credit reporting bureaus operate in India. I don't like them having access to my credit history. I would prefer lowering corporate taxes for companies that make things here.

Not at all given a corp protects the owners from losing personal wealth

My business was not a corp. And I was liable personally.

When corporate rates were that high it was lowered by investing profits in the corporation including its employees. This was good for America and her people. But we did not compete with foreign sweat shop labor thanks to our founders. And protecting our people and business.

That form of capitalism was structured for america and Americans instead of only the rich and wall street .

If your economic model does nornot serve our nation and people but only the top you destroy the middle and weaken this country . This virus revealed that as another world war would have done the same.

Interesting, but the money is still better off left with the corp. California is an example of extremely high taxes and the results we can expect from a greedy, irresponsible government.

Of course taxes can be too excessive but our old model with high taxes was not excessive for it steered business into investing back into the corp instead of chasing only short term profits.

Our old capitalism indeed was structured to benefit the optimum number of citizens and created history's largest middle class. So we have a record of how we did it and it was not the scheme of globalism based upon offshoring to sweat shop labor costs but by protecting us from that given to us by basic common sense of our founders who rejected max profit globalism and having the exploitable poor overseas producing what our people consumed .

But we finally got the wake up call with this novel virus. Yet the globalists who will give no allegiance to this nation owns DC and are rich and powerful. And clearly are not moral responsible people. They worship global capitalism that benefits only themselves from the big picture. And both parties are owned by these aabove morality bastards. Who are fine with enriching and helping the CCP with economic hegemony just as long as they get sweat shop labor and polluting the environment. Plus they can keep income offshore and not pay their taxes.

I see them as parasites living off of our consumer market sucking blood from their hosts. And both parties allowed it in exchange for financing political campaigns. What a racket.

I only want them to have enough power to temporarily act in national emergencies as per ww2 as well as the power to look out for America when it comes to capitalism .

If the current model of capitalism does not make our nation stronger and healthy by serving our citizens then govt has to be powerful enough to make it so. And of course it is. They just refused to keep doing it and sold us out Both parties .

I loved the capitalism that we once used as a tool for citizens to prosper by their work . Capitalism was the means to an end which was in the interest of our people . But that changed and the only people served are the few and it disemboweled our nation and people. And enriched and enabled communists who cheat and steal.

Yet the money and power you want to give them now is being used to start wars. There is no excuse for excessive taxes.
