All sides of the numerous political fences out there seem to agree on one thing: most Americans are undereducated on the subject of politics.
The general populace are basically idiots when it comes to politics. As dumb as the dumbest regular poster here is about politics, they are leaps and bounds above the average American. It is why the Founders did not trust them to vote, did not want them voting, and are probably rolling over in their graves that we amended the Constitution to vote in senators.
