Great, but that'a not true in most of the US. Somehow, a few states have far more testing capacity than others. I'm wondering who made that allocation decision and what the criteria are.

Also, the White House plan calls for repeated testing and contact tracking to reduce the workplace as a source of transmission. And, self directed, anonymous (where the results are officially ignored) drive through testing doesn't do that.

Today we have huge numbers of "essential" workers who spend their days in contact with outhers and for whom there is no PPE provided, no workplace regulation for pandemic, no organized testing, and no tracking.

Easy, we have good testing capacity because we have a lot of drug companies with labs.

I see you are making claims without proof.

Not allow testing? Got a source on that? Perhaps you meant not require testing. God forbid we leave anything to individual choice and responsibility...

The feds have little with determining who and how people get tested. Trump is just the whipping boy for the angry's. Governors have to be careful in how they construct the rules. I visualize a lot of the overwrought just driving from the drive-through window straight to the back of the line and circle again. Maybe their criteria could be developed by reading political forums and weeding out the obvious.

Even here, in a very rural area, we have free covid testing and antibody testing for anyone. This OP is nothing but fear mongerin bullshit.

It's Trump's plan, published on the White House site.

The catch with following the Trump plan is that my state and many others can not get anywhere NEAR the number of tests that plan requires. Here, a member of the working public can not get tested without having serious symptoms. That means they have already exposed people at work for a couple weeks, and would be out of the work place regardless of what any test says - in other words, that testing would be of little value to other workers.

We ALREADY have larnge numbers of workers at "essential" jobs who don't get tested.

When will we be able to test these workers - like the Trump plan requires before we even enter Phase 1 of the plan?

    What state is that?

I'd like to get a serum test, as my wife got seriously sick (as did I, but less so) early on when no testing was available. My wife never gets sick.

If Trump is going to push opening America, then distributing tests to states is a serious issue with federal level implications. So far, testing has been a monumental failure. And, that doesn't change by having some states get plenty while others get next to none.

And you have to toil every day to survive.

Well of course that was the old way.
Now we have the new way. We must be kept safe in our homes while fairy god mothers provide for our needs

Trump is not pushing the reopening of America. Your Governor is in charge of that. The feds can make suggestions but the onus is on your Governor.
Your state does the testing, not the Feds.

Trump absolutely IS pushing to open America's economy now. That doesn't mean the governors aren't "in charge". Trump is certainly NOT supporting the plan his people created and published on WhiteHouse.org.

My state does the testing. But, there are only a very few companies that are making tests.

The federal government has done NOTHING to ensure tests are available in the quantities needed for HIS plan.

And, that's the problem I'm pointing out. It's a scarce resource that is being allocated in in a monumentally unequal way. Blaming governors for that is absurd.

No . . . just until the political Left convinces the nation that everything is Trump's fault and to get senile Joe Biden into the Oval Office. At that point the political Left will mysteriously declare across the board that it is time to get the nation back to work.

These folks aren't even right about FL.

For example, in Key Biscayne one can't be tested unless one registers. Appointments are granted to those in risk groups or who have serious symptoms.

So, wherever you are, you're doing better than those Floridians!

Of course, due to capacity. You can’t just make labs and materials appear by magic.

The delivery rate today can not sustain Trump's plan for opening America.

What is the federal government doing to increase capacity so that the White House plan may be used?

This is a national crisis - waiting around to see if capitalism will save us is absolutely NOT acceptable.

There will never be enough testing. You would need to test 350+ million a day. We have quick testing available for flu strains and they still just estimate.

That testing in Harrison AR at the WAshington Regional walk in clinic. The only downside right now on the antibody test is that it's not the quick test that gives results in 10 minutes but it's still free and you don't need an appt.
