truly effective ways of getting the population to stop growing. We should encourage suicide, too. When somebody doesn't even want to be here anymore, HIP HOORAY if they get out of the way.

You don't need to encourage anything. You just need to allow it. And stop trying to punish it.

    Homosexuality, I mean. Suicide ... ummm ... I don't know.

I went to the mall the other day to do some Christmas shopping and I swear that every guy under the age of 20 was afflicted with the broken wrist syndrome and were walking around like they had a potato chip up their ass and didn't want to break it. I commented to my wife that now would probably be a great time to be alive if your were a heterosexual young male.

She just whispered something under her breath.

The good news is that its never busy in the tool section of sears but my God, trying to get into Bed, Bath, and Beyond to buy a gift for my mother is damn near impossible. I guess gays like to smell good or something.

Homosexuals aren't monsters hell bent on destroying America. They are just people like you and me that just love someone different than you may love.

Yes, because there are no conservative homosexuals....atleast not openly so.

    Just frustrated conservative wives.

    That is hardly accurate.

To deny that there is a major cultural shift with homosexuality in a large portion of its participants would be extremely misleading.

I don't really know a lot of straight men who are always checking out other men to see if they "look gay"...do you???

It was a descriptive, factually accurate post but I understand that not falling to your knees and worshiping at the alter of gayness somehow makes you a bigot in the eyes of the left.

Kind of hard not to notice when they are flaunting it everywhere they go. They want to be noticed is my guess, probably how they mate or something.

Wear super bright colors and strut around is what draws others to them....those who act the gayest get the most mates.

    Hmm, food for thought...

Well, you evidently thought it was important enough to comment on. The question is, why?

The cultural shift is happening because it's illegal for them to marry in a lot of places. Give em the marriage license and it'll die down.

I see, so you made a value judgement based solely on appearances and your assumptions. Yep, that'll get you a long way.

It was a personal anecdote relevant to the ongoing thread so I thought I would share. Feel free to dismiss it if you want to, which it sounds like you have.

    All is good.

Do you think I was wrong?

If you were in Vegas and had to bet your hard earned money on whether my judgment was correct or incorrect where would you place your money?

    :)

Regardless, even if they were not gay there is obviously a shift of many young men copying those facets of the homosexual community that has been attributed to them as behaviors typical of gays. If they were all merely copycats because they like the look then my point still stands relatively in tact.

Can you please explain why you think this is so?

    - - - Updated - - -

I guess you think engaging in stereotyping is an effective form of argument.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Explain, please.

Not sure what marriage has to do with a bunch of gay teenagers hanging out in the mall but ok.

Many stereotypes form based on fact. If I buy a ticket to a hockey game I can stereotype the majority of the fans as being white. I do not know that until I get there but it is a safe guess.

If you see a bunch of guys dressed like this it would be safe to assume that they are probably gay.

As with any hot button issue, there are usually movements among the youth that desire to copy or support it often portrayed through their actions and style in everything from their dress, to the movies that are made, to songs which are written. This happens quite frequently from the greasers in the 50's to the hippies in the 60's to the valley girl look in the 80's to the punk/grundge of the 90's to the homosexual/metrosexual look we are experience today.

They are counter-culture movements in essence.

Well, it's obvious to me that you don't actually know much about homosexuality. Still trying to ascertain whether you have a desire to become informed. I'm going to guess probably not.

For starters, there is no such thing as "acting gay", since gay people are as diverse as straight people - they don't all act alike.

How exactly does one 'flaunt' their 'gayness', anyway? I'm very interested in hearing what behaviors you equate with flaunting gayness.

So far, we have "broken wrist syndrome", dressing in bright colors, and preferring Bed, Bath, and Beyond over the tools section of Sears. Probably something else I missed. What do any of these, by themselves, have to do with being gay?

You're also wrong that acting in a stereotypical fashion such as you've described attracts the most mates. Like I said, you clearly know next to nothing about homosexuality.

Taken individually they mean nothing but when they are put together you can see a picture begin to form.

A woman who has a child is nothing.

A woman who drives a minivan is nothing.

A woman who buys a baseball in the store is nothing.

Put them altogether and we can reasonably assume she is a soccer mom who is involved with bringing her children and probably their friends to school sporting events.

Do you see how certain pieces can begin to profile someone and the more of those pieces you have the better the picture you can create.
