Carpet bombing should not be used.

The same result can be achieved with a fraction of the required aircraft & ordinance by using fuel-air explosives.

 

You have to keep the enemy either alive so there will be a boogie man to extort money from the taxpayer to protect them from, or a dependent like Germany/Japan, so you can extort money from the taxpayer to protect them from rising again. In any case it's about creating a situation where the rich/elites can rape the tax payers, and nothing about sustaining peace, or eliminating the threat.

 

So the B52s that dropped 108 500 pound bombs each on the Iraqi army in Kuwait you think was precision guided bombs?? The carpet bombing of the Iraqi troops was very effective in causing them to surrender as soon as they could. A person under ground during carpet bombing is caused to lose control of bodily functions which makes you want to get out of your hole.

B52s can drop 108 500 pounders at once or they can drop one or many precision guided bombs. In today's military the most effective tactic would be to drop as many JDAMs as they can, programmed to hit at the same time on a checker board grid.

I am "for" anything that saves American lives. War is Hell and not for the faint of heart, which is why generals lead the troops and not congressmen. You give free rein to our troops without all these stupid restrictions and no one will be able to touch us...no one!

 

Bush ran these wars the wrong way. We should have just taken out Saddam and his government and left the country alone. And in Afghanistan we should have done basically the same thing. Wipe out the leaders and as soon as they get new people in charge take them out also.

There is some merit to this. Leaving a smoking hole is a great object lesson. Not fair on a retail basis, but very effective on a national basis.

Very true but they could cause major havoc in Asia and Europe forcing us over there. If China was hell-bent on war and flipped their industry over to military production, armed 2 billion of their men, they would be quite the force to deal with.

There is absolutely no reason for all these conspiracy theories and alternative explanations for the wars when the truth is right there and easy to find.

 

Please explain, in detail, how the Chinese could get even a fraction of their troops to Europe. Be specific.

 

Same way Napolean got to Moscow. Not sure they would need to go to Europe for anything however but if they did it wouldn't be hard.

1. Send their crack troops into Russia as a holding force with many reserves ready because that area will turn into a meat grinder very quickly.

2. A smaller force to hold down Turkey and any other possible threats from the Middle East or Africa. A smaller force by the way would be millions of troops to them.

3. The bulk of their force would rush to Europe where the real battle would be fought probably starting around the Balkans. India or Pakistan do not have the military to be much more than a speed bump to a main Chinese push into Europe.

4. They would also send North Korea into Russia effectively taking them out of the war.

 

There was a meeting between the government and some oil reps. I saw the transcript of it on a .gov website. They were pretty explicit, talking about how they needed this oil pipeline in the worst way. They didn't actually say (that I read) "Let's start a war so we can do this," although they did talk about things like trying to use the Taliban's position on women's rights to drum up support in the States.

Last time I tried to find that transcript, I couldn't, or I would link to it. So I don't blame you if you want to be skeptical about my word. But I do think that war at least looks awfully convenient, don't you?

 

Carpet bombing kills too many civilians....that type of tactic would make us no different than terrorists......
