Here. I gave this a number to save typing.

    Why These Numbers are Different
Provisional death counts may not match counts from other sources, such as media reports or numbers from county health departments. Counts by NCHS often track 1–2 weeks behind other data.

    • Death certificates take time to be completed. There are many steps to filling out and submitting a death certificate. Waiting for test results can create additional delays.
    • States report at different rates. Currently, 63% of all U.S. deaths are reported within 10 days of the date of death, but there is significant variation between states.
    • It takes extra time to code COVID-19 deaths. While 80% of deaths are electronically processed and coded by NCHS within minutes, most deaths from COVID-19 must be coded by a person, which takes an average of 7 days.
    • Other reporting systems use different definitions or methods for counting deaths.
Things to know about the data
Provisional counts are not final and are subject to change. Counts from previous weeks are continually revised as more records are received and processed.

Provisional data are not yet complete. Counts will not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period, especially for more recent periods. However, we can estimate how complete our numbers are by looking at the average number of deaths reported in previous years.

Please post your evidence that Worldometer is not a credible organization.

Because Worldmeter posts absolute numbers, instead of relative. The true statistics is about how numbers sizes up against moving averages.
E.g. I have posted the link from CDC.
You can clearly see the trend, that number of fatal cases is around or below average for almost five weeks.
Worldmeter on the other hand continue to report horrific data, that makes people scary.
People are so scared that they are ready to kill anyone who does not wear the mask.
That is exactly how tyrannies and dictatorships are starting.

Do you understand that the CDC weekly reports continually lag for a couple of weeks? And thus using the CDC report from two days ago will show an inaccurate count?

Worldofmeters posts the relative data by using cases/deaths per million. And they also show trend lines by showing the 3 day and 7 day rolling averages.

Yep, they assist with unprecedented power grab, essentially the end of democracy as we know it.
And you support that unfortunately, or may be you are one of the enablers.

What is a point to report numbers without any relationship to total deaths from any cause?
No point other then get make people scared and force them to voluntarily give up their freedom.

Worldofmeters actually reports the deaths from pretty much any cause you can imagine...

It just so happens that the coronavirus page gets more attention because, and I know this is shocking, it is a NOVEL INFECTIOUS DISEASE.

I love how people discredit something they know nothing about. They then turn around and expect to be taken seriously. I'm still waiting for kreo to tell me where he got his doctorate in infectious diseases.

Whatever they do, they absolutely not qualified to make statements like this
Actual Cases (1.7 million: 10 times the number of confirmed cases)
Actual Deaths (23,000: almost twice the number of confirmed deaths)

It tells me that the whole purpose of the site is to make people scary and give up their rights.

There were only 500 Chinese Virus related deaths in America last week, compared to 20,000 in mid-April. The vaccine is being tested on tens of thousands of volunteers; the US Government has hundreds of millions of vaccine doses on order. Is this not good news for you?

:DOf course not. But for President Trump to rent a U-Haul truck and move out of the White House, you'll have to wait for 4 1/2 more years

    Your 500 a week suddenly becomes 5,000 a week. That's a difference.

This is hard to understand? Let's make it more simple.

Source data; My primary results show that as of today, we have 500 cases, but we won't have the final numbers for today for another two weeks.
You: See that! It's going down.
Source data: Again, the data from today won't be correct for another two weeks.
You: How can two days make a difference?

A week is SEVEN days, so two weeks is FOURTEEN days.

    14 minus 2 = 12.

Let's see what the data looks like in 12 days.

I think your primary mistake is thinking that day and week are synonyms.

I promise you that the CDC will report that roughly 5,000 Americans lost their lives last week.

The next week, the CDC will report - eventually (again, they told you it will take 2-3 weeks) - that roughly 7,000 Americans lost their lives the following week.

Every day the numbers reported by my state's Department of Health match up to WorldOMeters for the state.

    This thread's premise is ridiculous.

Thank you for this lesson in arithmetics, can you also help me balance my checkbook?

And no, I was talking about weekly and not daily deaths.

The weekly data is as far behind as the daily. LOL.

This week's data won't be complete for another two weeks.
