Until 2 weeks back, I was not sure if Trump would run.
His team is rounding up money and it seems we will have Trump back as president. Biden can blame himself.

I don't disagree with that. If you're going to stop propping up a President (who apparently just fled the country with four cars and a helicopter full of so much cash he left some behind on the tarmac) - then you need a plan to get ALL your people out before allowing the enemy to overrun you.

Seems like Biden didn't take any of that intel into account.

    not really defending Biden...

    upload_2021-8-17_15-31-31.png

JOE BIDEN may have more foreign-policy experience than any American president in 30 years, but he is haunted by the brutal assessment of his judgment by Robert Gates, who was secretary of defence under the president both men served, Barack Obama. Mr Gates called Mr Biden “a man of integrity” whom it was impossible not to like. Yet, writing in “Duty”, his memoir, he added: “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign-policy and national-security issue over the past four decades.”

    .......

So does Mr Biden’s own inconsistent advocacy over the years for the use of force. He supported NATO air strikes in the Balkans, and opposed George H.W. Bush's war against Iraq before supporting George W. Bush’s second one. In the years since he has been more frequently an advocate of restraint, opposing Mr Obama’s intervention in Libya as well as his decision, in response to a renewed Taliban threat in 2009, to dispatch 30,000 soldiers to Afghanistan. Since Mr Biden was a child he has always been a risk-taker, trusting in the end in his own judgment. That pattern led to another appraisal that has long troubled him, from a largely admiring portrait in the great chronicle of American presidential politics, “What It Takes”, by Richard Ben Cramer. “Joe Biden had balls,” Mr Cramer wrote. “Lot of times, more balls than sense.”

Biden deserves that. This is about Biden having his own Saigon to his name and that confirms I am correct.

I would like to see Biden wrap himself in his flag of surrender and flee to ... why not to Afghanistan?

That is just one article. I subscribed to that left wing rag. I paid good money for the truth but kept reading praises of the Democrats.

Be careful on how that money is spent...he's been known to dip into his political funds for personal expenses and remember the Trump Foundation...it no longer exists.

Some can't get to Kabul. Particularly the charities in the boonies.

But remember, Biden expected this withdrawal over days to weeks.

Not over a few hours like we are seeing now.

I read they were aiming to evacuate 5,000 a day. Sounds like they aren't anywhere those levels.

What a massive screw up Biden is.

I have heard that there may be as many as 10,000 American civilians trapped in Afghanistan. Does anyone know?

It seems more likely that that Biden's Intelligence and military advisors told him that the cities would remain secure. Had Biden fired any of them?

Did you see that white article of surrender that Ghani wore? I have a hunch Biden has his too.

Psaki had enough sense to get the hell out of Dodge before she had answer questions about this epic military/intelligence failure.

It looks like Biden and his team are dealing with the crisis in Afghanistan like professionals as was expected. We will finally be out of there soon. Trump’s team is all about “rounding up money” from anyone stupid enough to piss theirs away. That’s for sure. Hopefully the cultist base will run him again in 2024 so he can be humiliated badly again. Biden has over 3 years left to prove himself. As the saying goes, 6 months is an eternity in politics. Three years is eons. But you can keep dreaming if you like, it’s a free country.

That's a curious presumption. We have a woman vice President. Has she said or acting on behalf of Afghan women?
