    Perhaps if I can convince myself to suspend logic and reason I would be more willing adopt such a philosophy.

    However, Eastern philosophy tends to contradict itself far less.

    The picture is not entirely correct. God made a bunch of other rules too, but those other ones are allowed to be ignored because they aren't "modern", but the hating gays part, that stays.

    Also don't forget the part about how he made everything, revealed himself to people that were two hairs away from being a baboon, and then disappeared from all sight for the next few thousand years.

    Oh, he also revealed himself to many different people, taking on different forms and birthing different religions, just to stir up the pot for laughs.

    One more thing. God is apparently a Republican.

    There is really very little to address in the OP, it's basically just a smartass one-liner. But to respond: theists do NOT believe that there was nothing, then God suddenly appeared. Instead, they believe that God was always there. The "something from nothing" belief is actually more like the Big Bang Theory than theism. And as for hating gays, He DID say to "multiply and prosper", not pack fudge and bump donuts.
