The indictment does not indicate the Russians were trying to get President Trump to win. Perhaps you missed the part in the indictment where it is claimed they also sought to enhance Bernie Sanders.

Further, once the President became the President Elect, they funded campaigns to try and discredit the election, and to discredit the President Elect. If they wanted President Trump to win, why would they sow seeds to destroy him?

According to the indictment, the objective was simply to mess with the US Political system. The loss was all on Hillary, which has been well documented by members of her own party.

I don't think they were expecting the Democrats to cheat and rig the election for Hillary. The Russians were duped just like Bernie donors and supporters.

 

Let's say you're right. They wanted Trump.

But their goal was to sow discord and undermine our confidence in our electoral system. Have they succeeded at that? Wouldn't that still have been their goal if Bernie or Hillary had been elected?

And they didn't want to just sow "discord". That's sort of a genteel word. I think they wanted to sow toxicity in our government. I think they want to paralyze and weaken our nation by fomenting hatred among us all. And I think when we succumb to that, they win. Frankly, I think they have been winning.

We know this now!

Now, we may take the credit, or take the blame, for how we respond.

 

Well it did prove how crooked Hillary really was/is.

 

The fact that they still worship her and wish she was president speaks volumes. They also wish bill was first man, cheating on Hillary in front of the world with 20 year old interns, while on the clock.

 

I wouldn't recommend posting "evidence" that you are a gun owner, especially an AR-15. The FBI I'm sure is making a list for future door busting parties like they did Paul Manafort in the "aggressive" Russian investigation.

This Russian operation was much more sophisticated than just some troll remarks.

We've been played and played well. The country is eating itself - exactly what they wanted to foment.

So now we know. And now we must learn. And now we need to understand and respond.

I haven't been here for a year and four months. I've been on here for just over 2 months. I put a lot of people on ignore. It has to do with how they behave and how they debate. They are not worth the trouble: they are tiresome, irksome, annoying, etc.

 

Sometimes when you talk about something, the results aren't seen immediately. Takes time.

My POV is that all of us - left and right - must learn from this. This lesson is for all of us.

Agreed. And the primary lesson to be learned for dems is that they have been losing elections since 2010 yet act like they've been winning elections, marching in lock-step with each other rather than doing what their constituents want them to do. That's why they are losing elections and will continue losing.
