Let me make it real simple, only humans ask the question why and expect there to be an answer.

It is intriguing that one NDE in six involves a meeting with a deceased pet!!!!!!???

My daughter loves this NDE account... we have a four year old golden lab.....

Animal empathy? Are you watching Disney? Real animals aren't like that. Maybe dogs.

Feed off the dead? Lol.. I am pretty sure it is the left that wants more death tax.

In big cities especially, animals are far more human than the gang banging animals that live there. Animals dont kill for sport.

Humans have souls and a conscience whereas animals don't. Animals don't kill because they are mean, vindictive and evil, but because they need to hunt food.

But there is a species of humans amongst humans that have no soul or conscience. And they maim and kill because it's their culture to cause trouble, misery and chaos. Nevertheless, the gentrified species of humans see them as cute and mischievous and don't mind being attacked by them. As a matter fact, the more this soulless species harms the gentry, the more they adore, respect, feed, babysit and care for these ghouls devoid of a conscience.

I am wide open to the probability that our lab and our dashund pup have a soul that survives their physical death:

seems to me that animals, unlike humans, aren't intelligent enough to rationalise really stupid things. That's why you don't see animals striving for unrealistic utopias and murdering their kin by the millions, or why they don't commit suicide, or even, why they don't consciously become vegetarians.

The curse of humanity is to be intelligent enough for conscious stupidity, but not intelligent enough to realize that it is stupidity.

We have better brains. That is the only real difference between human and non-human animals.

our brains are better in some categories, not all

for example: lots of animals have brains that process visual, aural and olfactory sensation, at a much higher level, than humans are capable of

Environmental conditions determine evolution. For billions of years, evolution was guided by the environmental conditions of Earth. Humans are unique, in that we came along and left Earth (if but for a brief time), imo, raising new questions about evolution and environment. So to me, that is the primary difference between humans and all other animals on the planet. All other animals and their descendants are at the mercy of the conditions of this planet, while humans have shown that we may not be.

Animals tend not to indulge in pointless activities-like flying rockets to dead satellite moons.
