Yet you support government even though they take your money by force? That's insane.

While they don't use direct force or steal your money directly, they do use force in other ways. Unfortunately, this is because of the government. They lobby for regulation on there industry to create entry barriers and make it harder for the smaller guys to compete, thus cutting competition. They buy subsidies, bailouts, grants, etc. from the government. They are even considered people by the government so they can do evil things without being held personally responsible. Without government, you wouldn't have the giant mega corporations that you do now. More government regulation means less competition and more profits for the big boys.

If you remove gravity from Earth, people will stop falling down.

I'd suggest you'd have equal success with either venture.

    Good luck.

Well then, let's just all do whatever the hell we want to, by all means.

Big money is the cancer that has killed the host body. Time to cut it out and hope for the best.

It's like talking to a brick wall with you. Instead of adressing my post, you ignore it and use terms that no one understands without any logic to back it up.

Are you autistic? Often those with autism use words and phrases that have significance in their own mind but not anyone else's. WE DON'T KNOW WHAT "BIG MONEY" IS. You sound like a bumbling idiot who can't use logic.

...and you sound like a typical right wing, limo ridin', out of touch elitist.

Now what? Big money is the problem. It should be removed from the process entirely, not reaffirmed or its limits removed as per Bush's Supreme Court.

    Big money...corporate power. Lobbyists, etc,etc...Comprende?

How did you get that from my post? Why do you bring partisanism into the conversation. What made me sound like a right wing elitist?

Corporate power and lobbyists? You mean what I was just talking about? I just showed you how the government gives large corporations power. Instead of making statements about big money and how harmful it is, back it up with logic. Provide reasons as to why and how big money gives corporations the ability to use force.

Why do you use the term big money? Do you realize how foolish it makes you sound? It's not a term or phrase that people use. You just made it up...

Big money is a term that is accurate enough, as it has infiltrated every aspect of the corporate controlled country we live in today. Why do lawmakers cater to big money lobbyists? Big money. Why are corporations allowed to run rough shot over society? Big money. Why did we have to bail out Wall street? Big money. Plain and simple. Sorry if you don't comprehend it.

The reasons? Big money. If we had a representative government versus a paid off government, the laws would be entirely different. Society would be different. Instead, it's corrupted, by big money. Cancer. What's so difficult about that concept?

Because you haven't defined the term big money. You've been intentionally vague when I've asked you to define it.

Can you give me a clear, concise definition of 'big money'?

Anyway, my post was about how corporations buy power from the government through lobbying and favors for politicians. If that's what you believe, why did you dismiss my post?

    Oye vay.

Big money, provided to lobbyists for the lawmakers, from the corporate interests that smuggle it out of society. Your argument is that the gov is the problem. I say that the big money influence is the problem. The Washington takers are the recipients of big money's corporate interest. Accountability of where the money comes from would resolve the problem, as long as you hold those accountable...those sourcing the big money.

It appears that you're stuck on stupid. I have asked you multiple times to define big money yet you just ignore my request and keep using it. Can you define it or is this conversation over?

Where ever it comes from! Whomever write the checks. Whomever passes the envelope under the table. The corporate gangsters...whomever they are. You're having such a tough time dancing with this, maybe it's you?

What? I'm having a tough time because you aren't making any sense. Define big money. Define big money. Define big money.

I can't have a conversation with you if I don't know what you're talking about. Just define the (*)(*)(*)(*) term.

Perhaps he is sick of circular logic and the tail wagging the dog in this country (US).
Perhaps he is simply giving an argument using the same logic many economists use. I mean look at the stimulus arguments that are accepted so widely. Most people do not have a clue how it is supposed to work and how it does work under our broken model.
What is that logic? Who knows but it looks good on paper and we can sell it to the people because it helps big business send more jobs out to increase profits.

I know what he is saying when he uses the term “BIG MONEY” and perhaps you just like to try and shake people. Big money is not bill gates or Warren Buffet or the millionaires I know (some I helped make more money).
Big money is hard to identify on an individual level; so who is it?
Big Money are the entities that buy the loyalty of the politicians. Many times they are groups at organizations that make donations in a PAC fund. They give to both parties but usually they give more to the person that think will win. They also give smaller amounts to the other guy and this is “just in case money”; contingency funding, if you understand it better that way.
Find out who the lobbyists were and more importantly who their masters were in the 40s who helped get the mutual fund rolling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investment_Company_Act_of_1940.
This helped Big Money but that was not enough so they regrouped and sent their guy out again in the 70s to get the IRA on track and that still was not enough they then got the 401k going. Find the masters involved in these things and you have found “Big Money”. All of these schemes have hurt the American worker but made trillions (BIG T) for “Big Money”.

You're on the right track, Archer. It's been corporate oligarchy by design for several decades at least. The problem is that most people are conditioned to see the national government as the highest level of power and influence when in fact the governments are controlled by a supranational power structure that has no national loyalty nor any interest in democracy, liberty, nor justice beyond their ability to manipulate.

    then...

Do you really think Bill Gates and Warren Buffet aren't part of the "buy a politician" Millionaires club?

The "Bill and Melinda Gates foundation" spends more money flying politicians and their families to exotic places and putting them up in fancy hotels for "meetings" to discuss what to do with their money than they do on the actual issues they claim to be working to help... and Warren Buffet has his wrinkled old hands down the pants of more politicians than an STD doc at a political convention.

I cant join the 99%ers.. I have a job. I have responsibilities.. tell you what... while you guys are hanging out on wall street.. I'll be raising your kids for you in the juvenile justice system.

With all of the crap MS went through. No! He has money but he is not manipulating markets and politicians in the way I am speaking of.

The Gates foundation does many things and they help many people. Bill gives away more money than most Wall Street big shots ever see. He does not need to buy a politician. If he has big issues he can just buy a small country and move.

By the way I am anti OWS. They need to vote with their dollars and put the money mongers in their place. They can not though because they just want free money to buy more Chinese stuff.

If this was true, and I don't concede that it is, the only way for such a corporate oligarchy to run anything is to influence government. Government remains the only place where law and force can be used with even a facade of legitimacy in the U.S.. Without the government to implement their wishes, corporations have no means to force anyone to do anything. That means in order to render that alleged corporate oligarchy powerless, the government must be restricted to its intended function. If the government isn't allowed to wield unconstitutional power, it becomes useless to your corporate oligarchy.

Whether the true corruption that exists is within the government itself or in an alleged corporate oligarchy, the answer to the problem is to limit the government in its abuse of power. For example, if the federal government doesn't have the power to force people to have health insurance, or to limit competition with insurance companies, or to provide insurance alternatives, the insurance lobby wouldn't have reason to lobby, bribe or extort Congress to pass such insurance related laws. Without all the "regulation" implemented by Congress that acts as barriers to competition in the insurance industry, choice expands and prices drop*.

*This very simplified example shouldn't be taken to mean I think there should be no regulation on insurance companies at all. The federal government has a legitimate regulatory function in making sure there is equal treatment under the law and to protect protect the citizenry from force and fraud.
