Well, at what point does it become reality? The U.S., U.K., Russia, China and Israel (as well other nations) employ this technology and method on real people around the world. So, why not here?
I have a basic respect for the government and give them the benefit of the doubt until given reason to doubt them. WWII is not modern America, but this does not preclude America from commit atrocities against its own people. But until I see proof I will default to the idea that America did not attack itself on 9/11. The burden of proof is upon those who say we did attack ourself.
Care to read the date on these documents? Explain how documents from 1962 prove anything about a terrorist attack in 2001.

The burden of proof is upon those govt officials who can't even prove the origin of the 4 highjacked planes, nor who (if anyone at all) was on them, nor why the 2nd plane was so dark grey when in fact AAs are bright white and red, nor that the person killed in April 2011 was really Bin Laden and even if he was, why kill him?

Of course they know. But do we? I'm sure that at the time it was supposed to have a lot of red on it which it did not.
Is this a picture of the actual plane? The lower part of the airframe is blue as you can see. And the tail has a logo with some red. None of that was seen in the actual footage.
