Should Jody Arias be aquitted ? Or found guilty ? Has the prosecution done its job to PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that Jody Arias committed first degree murder ? Or, like in the OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony trials, there just wasn't the PROOF present to convict ? Maybe Jody could be found NOT GUILTY (that's not the same as "Innocent"), based on the prosecution's inability to positively disprove her self-defense claim. And despite her 3 versions of the killing, it could be that she awkwardly thought that the true version might not look true, and so tried to cover it with another story. Frankly, having never killed anyone myself, I really couldn't exactly know how someone would feel at that time. It's also true that Jody Arias has had mental problems, and who knows what somebody like that might think, especially in a very stressful situation ? One thing is for sure. Despite being young and rather attractive, if she does get off, I don't know too many guys who would want to get too close to her.. Anyone dating her could possibly consider bringing a bodyguard along, and/or tell her the whole thing is being recorded. Whew !!!
This female is not going to walk... she hung herself w/her different versions of what happened. And her 'self-defense' is so phony, it's laughable. If the guy was so abusive to her, why did she keep traveling from one state to another to spend time w/him? But then sickos do that, don't they? Hopefully, the jury will put her in prison for life, if not the DP....
Upon what basis would you convict her ? That is, what is your proof that she did not act in self defense ?
She might be that. But the juries job is to convict her upon PROOF presented by the prosecution that she did not kill the guy in self-defense. Do you think the prosecution has done that ?
30 stab wounds, a gunshot wound to the head and a slit throat is a bit of overkill for someone "defending" themselves.
That's not what the NRA argues for "self-defense"! 50-shot magazines of bullets that would go through two brick walls and an elephant are merely considered :"adequate" in their self-defense scenarios! Look how much labor a gun like that would have saved this poor girl! 30 stabbing thrusts can give a girl a muscle cramp!
I trust you've read of police shoot-outs where numerous rounds were sent down range, only to find the target a half dozen times or so... now imagine the accuracy of a startled awake, heart pounding, untrained civilian confronted with a threat in their home...
The man was taking a shower......for starters. IF he had been abusive towards her that evening, wouldn't him standing under the shower, stark naked, be the perfect time for her to grab her shoes & purse and run like hell? A sane woman would have.... but then a sane woman wouldn't have anything to do w/a guy who abuses her, the way she claimed he did.... Oh yeah. Her grandparents handgun had disappeared a couple of months b/f Alexander was shot in the head, then butchered in the shower..... The female is one sicko. She had been diagnosed as borderline personality........
For me, it is two things that throw her clam of SD out the window. 1) The fact that she ran down the hall and in to the bedroom. She would have gone by the main doors that led out of the building. Thus she could have escaped. But no she ran in to the bed room. 2) She stabbed this guy 27 times in his chest and back, shot him in the head and slit his throat. That isnt self-defense. That is murder.
Doesn't care about discussing the pathologies associated with violent crime and criminality... but cares deeply about strictly controlling the inanimate tools...specifically, firearms.... used in crime. Bet the young lad is a prog...
Actually, this is pretty typical behavior for an abused lover. I have no stake in this case, and I have no idea what's going on, but this specifically is common. Beaten Woman Syndrome, IIRC.
I think she's guilty as hell. To me it sounds like Jodie Arias is an obsessive stalker. She did things like hack into his e-mail and break into his apartment when he wasn't home after they broke up. That is classic stalking behavior. Usually when people think of a case of stalking they presume that it is a guy stalking a girl. However, in relatively rare cases it's the other way around. I know because years ago it happened to me. And I'm not afraid to admit that I was afraid of her, very afraid. Yep, I was scared of a pretty little 5 foot nothing 110 pound girl. I was truely creeped out. I was so creeped out that I moved, traded in my car, got a new job and an unlisted phone number. I think the big mistake Travis Alexander made was that he continued to have sex with Arias after he broke up with her. The last thing you want to do with a stalker is have sex with her. That will just fuel her obsession.
Traveling from one state to another to be abused is typical? One can't think about such things on the long drive? Where is the personal responsibility in that? I suppose if typical equals stupid you are absolutely correct...
Yeah, sickos do it all the time, but not everyone involved in an abusive relationship that goes back is a sicko, its a very terrible thing that some are lucky to escape with their lives. I knew Casey would not be convicted, she couldn't be if you actually followed the law and not the emotional Vinnie Politans of the world. All it does take is for one abused woman to be on that jury though. But it will prob come back hung.
I think she is smoking hot as a blonde. Not so hot with as a brunette and those old lad glasses. Oh and she liked the rough stuff... and from accounts was pretty talented. Good talent is always had to find.
It's a mental problem caused by the abusive situation. When someone has, say, an acute case of stockholm syndrome, you don't start to talk about personal responsibility, you start to talk about rehabilitation. Whether such was the case in this case is questionable, I just wanted to point out that this kind of thing is not unheard of, and as such pointing it out as a counter to the idea that she may have been beaten is a poor defense. Once again, just to reiterate, I have no idea about the case. I'm just pointing that out.
