As you all probably already know, the Obama Administration has agreed to arm the Free Syrian Army. Some believe that this means a guaranteed victory for the rebels. Is it really that simple?
Oh, it's going to mean unstability in the region for years to come. I'm more intreseted to see how other middle eastern countries take this, Turkey in particular. I'm also willing to bet that there's going to be attempts at democracy, but we're going to see something along the lines of a dictatorship forming up.
who are the free Syrian army? one thing is guaranteed they will turn on Americans for decades to come and Israelis better put their gas masks by their beds at night because that's for sure going to be hit badly once the missiles start flying and the Shia and Sunni both turn on their mutual enemy it's almost like Obama has a plan to wipe Israel off the map because he couldn't do more than he is doing now to achieve that goal even with all his we support you and will defend you talk he is with Saudi stirring up extreme hatred on a scale never seen before in my lifetime
you forgot Russia and China and North Korea. this will be global I love how you put option 3 as Russia will worsen things! <<< MODERATOR EDIT: OFF TOPIC/ INSULT >>>
I'm not denying it, I'm just focusing in on the Middle East. Notice, I didn't even say anything about the US.
The USA won't win so much as reach a stalemate. There are no winners for the USA: If Assad wins he will be belligerent towards America. If the Rebels win they will hate America for our freedoms, and also because we didn't help them earlier. The moderates in Syria are all dead, so there isn't going to be a gentle middle ground regardless of the result of the Syrian civil war. And, with so many rebels joining up with the Jihadi groups they might stay there after the war is over just to pick off their weak opponents and also their neighbors in other countries who supported Assad (ex: Hezbollah). On the home front, the USA already faces a war weary population and budget problems (the games Congress now plays with our budget and deadlines). I think we're just one game away from our troops becoming permanent residents of the Middle East, in other words... we can't pay them, can't supply them, and can't bring them home. In addition Obama will be blamed both for trying to deflect the recent string of controversies by starting a war, and also blasted by humanitarians who wanted the USA the go in sooner than this. It's a no-win situation for him. Another addition everyone around the world and their pets are heading into Syria to pick a side to support. Friends and enemies of the USA alike. Now America's got to do something just to keep up its reputation as a super power. Now we have World War 3 by proxy. A rather sickening addition to this is that there are armies around the world who are gleeful at getting to test some of their new weapons systems out in this war. These proxy wars are also about testing experimental weapons out on human test subjects without there being a public outcry.
By force the rebel would won, but the question is who would unite Syria at the the aftermath, when diplomacy and peace should be called upon.
Nothing good can come of it. Obama is even talking about bringing Syrian refugees to the US. What????? They're Al Qaeda. Obama's meddling is systematically destabilizing the Middle East and he's doing it on purpose.
