I often think we behave as we do according as we are trained or our mindset is cultivated. I wonder whether we behave morally, ethically and rationally if we were never taught to be moral. Imagine a child is left in the jungle and he is taught to speak a particular social language but never taught what is good or bad or religions or any moral or social codes. Though he will be placed with his own parents they will never teach him moral principles or what they themselves had been taught. No Guru, no books of prayers. What will be his sexual behaviors? What will be his reactions or responses to what is happening around the world? Will he feel painful when he sees people being massacred? Will he be self centered? How will he behave with his parents?
Morals are always taught to children, even if they are poor and lowly morals, and even if they are immoral. There is no such thing as "amorality" and without morals. Every infant and child learns how to live from somebody or something.
I think "Lord of the Flies" provided a good example of what happens when children are left alone to set up their own rules.
Alternatively Moglie in the "Jungle Book" There have been many instances of children being found after living in jungles and their only problem was adjusting to modern society. http://www.mnn.com/family/babies-pregnancy/photos/9-children-who-were-raised-by-animals/cambodian-jungle-girl
He will become a Social Progressive Liberal, with no moral compass, no compassion for his fellow man, taking what he wants for whatever reason he wants, with no guilty conscience to plague him.
Morality is defined by society it is not inherent so if society has not determine what is moral for the child then nothing he does can be immoral.
Wolves seem to have better morals than humans. After all when was the last time one wolf killed another over money or if he didn't believe in the same invisible man.
What is a social progressive liberal? If you use the progressivism of FDR and other people of that era, it is clearly not jiving with modern liberalism. In fact, today's liberalism and FDR progressivism are the antithesis of one another. I am a FDR progressive. I have a very deep moral compass, and great sense of right and wrong. My morality the one Christ spoke of, although I am not a practicing Christian. Having this morality, I have a great problem with fundamentalist conservative Christians. They do not exhibit the morality as taught to man by Christ. They pick and choose, and spend much time in trying to justify their ignore-ance of morality. I hear it each night, listening to conservative Christian talk radio. But the modern liberal, is as dysfunctional, morally as the conservative Christian. Just in different areas. But then neither group are really Christians. They are fakes.
