I am posting this to make people understand why North Korea is firing these missiles to near waters of Guam.

BTW I am not related in any way with North Korea. I am just a regular Korean dry cleaner man in California, and this is my best guess.

North Korea specifically said the missiles will be fired into waters around Guam, 30-40km from the island, which is probably international water, NOT waters of US territory.

North Korea missiles is going to fly over Japan, but they go through space, so its probably also out of Japan territory of air.

So the missiles are not really attack on US territory. It's legit. It is the same thing as these bombers United States sends out frequently to near borders of North Korea whenever tensions arise.

But lets see what choices US has on these missiles and result.

    1. Try to shoot down incoming missiles.

If United States has any capability to defend against ICBM, North Korea is giving US a very good chance to test it. They are giving approximate time and place.
Its like North Korea is giving close-to-real test environment for US missile defense system.

Lets say US missile defense put down all four missiles with success.
This is going to prove that North Korea missiles are useless against United States.
Clear win for United States, and it's going to prove the world that United States truly has a working missile defense system. US voice in UN will get stronger.

Even if US can put down, one of four incoming North Korea missile, it wouldn't be that bad.

But what if US missile defense misses all of them??? What would international community and potential buyers of US missile defense think of this???

    2. Just ignore the missiles.

That's just going to prove that United States is a sitting duck against North Korea missiles.

Nobody really knows what our true missile defense capability is.

Whatever it is its probably aboard ships in the route of any incoming missiles.

If NK aims that at Guam and fires then its an attack on the US regardless if they hit or not and we would retaliate.

I doubt we would nuke them, unless they fired a nuke, but it would open us up to any and all possibilities.

So I guess US testing out Minute Man III by firing at Kwajalein Atoll is US attacking Kwajalein Atoll.. wherever that is.

And all these B1, B-2 bombers and nuclear submarines, air craft carrier have been "attacking" North Korea for long time.

Its like North Korea has been attacked by US hundreds ( or maybe thousands) of times every year !!! Ha ha..
