Edit: Now when I had my old truck, which i couldn't reach over and open the door, I did that...but that was ages ago.

 

I don't think it's about men or women having changed, but the dating market certainly has. Hook up culture is made for men. Obviously if you are woman seeking commitment and a relationship, it's probably never been a worse dating environment.

If she was busting balls I totally missed it (although I might be a little jaded in that regard) however you're basically correct. That sort of girl, although maybe initially interesting, gets tiring very quickly.

 

We got tired of being manipulated. We're still here but we hooked up with women from other cultures that still hold traditional values and foster "sharing" different responsibilities in a relationship rather than expecting men to shoulder all of them.

If someone said that all women should be kept barefoot and pregnant such words would be rightfully criticized as being sexist. The sentiments expressed on this forum which call for "real men" are equally sexist.

 

Women tend to be happier living out traditional roles rather than the 9 to 5 grind with a 30 and up partner Notch count and three cats in their studio apartment.

So I want a woman to be cherished and protected from the harsh realities of the outside world and spend her time around beautiful children. How terrible what an awful thing that I want to take care of a woman so that she doesn't have to worry about anything but raising the future generation.

In a nutshell, it sounds like you would prefer a man who knew and respected himself and his values, who was strong enough to not be intimidated by your strength, who would find joy in your success and joy, who could be a partner in both role and the way he filled it, instead of saying partner but acting as adversary.

So what you are looking for then is love not a euphemism for sex but real honest love. You want some body who will care for you not just use you. That's whatever anyone else here may think is a good thing. But good and easy are not synonyms. The Ten commandments begins with the command to love the lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and all your mind. Why does it start with that? Because if you don't love God in that special way you will never be able to love anyone else in that special way. You can't explain that sort of love there is no reason for it for that love is content in the existence of whoever is it's object. Real love isn't a feeling it is a state of being/ It either is or it is not. It doesn't take time to grow it takes time to be recognized and in a culture of instant gratification it can be easily missed. So be careful of your time cherish it and watch, learn, and listen. And never forget that every so often really good things can come in really odd packages,
