By all reasonable accounts, President Trump has had a good first year in office. While he has not gotten many parts of his legislative agenda through, he has had some amazing victories in other areas. The economy is growing, the regulatory state is being dismantled but there is one victory that President Trump has that has been “yuge.” This victory will pay dividends for two generations. And perhaps the only part that is more interesting than the victory is who it turns out is the unlikely architect of the victory. In his first year in office, Barack Obama managed to get three federal judges confirmed by the Senate. As of now, President Trump has gotten sixteen judges confirmed and the year is not up yet. The judges President Trump is appointing are by and large younger judges. That means these men and women will be on the bench for decades, changing the federal judiciary. President Trump’s appointments will make the judiciary much more conservative and the man behind this is a man a lot of conservatives don’t care for:Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. I have to hand it to Mitch he has gotten these judges confirmed, a plus. Now the Trump haters claim the President hadn't gotten anything meaningful done, I beg to differ. Even when the President is long gone his foot print will remain for decades. Thank you President Trump. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/dec/11/trump-judicial-appointments-mitch-mcconnell-role/
Obama probably spent too much time on the golf course, I guess. This is what Presidents do, and elections have consequences. You obviously find problems with this, but... why should I care?
Actually Senate Republicans held up a crapload of Obama's judicial nominees...just like they did the SCOTUS seat Thanks for pointing out how important it is for Dems to win back the Senate...or we will have a generation of these freaks sitting on the Federal bench
Don't know where you got I have a problem with the appointments Belch I said "I have to hand it to Mitch he has gotten these judges confirmed, a plus. Now the Trump haters claim the President hadn't gotten anything meaningful done, I beg to differ. Even when the President is long gone his foot print will remain for decades. Thank you President Trump. I've supported the President since 6-15-2015
There are already 16 and more to come it's only been 10 and a half months. Most of these judges are early 40's, seems 9th circus judges better not retire or die.
Yes, some of these judicial nominees who have little to no experience in the courtroom whatsoever, lets just toss em all on the bench. There would be total chaos without a regulatory state in place to keep things in check. Just saying. Insurance is a good example of a industry that needs constant governmet regulation, set prices on meds and keep them there. Anyone who calls Trump President I have to say just spat on Reagan and Lincoln quite aplenty.
This is by far Trumps greatest victory yet and the left hasn't realized it yet but they will see it first hand soon enough. Once their agenda is stopped dead in its tracks thanks to Trumps judiciary they will lose on everything.
This is why the 2016 election has caused so many to realize that the democrats and more widely the entirety of american politics has no potential for affirmative change. Obama was inept, the dems won't save us, and the legal system is more hopeless than ever. A better future will not involve the USA.
It is important to begin impeaching as many Leftist Progressive federal judges as possible. Those who have made rulings in direct defiance of the USC need to be booted. Justice Ginsberg is at the top of the list.
