Don't know about the movie, but the person who it is based upon is real...Kim Barker.

It takes a lot of brass balls to be a female journalist in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I'll give her credit for that.

She and Jon Stewart do not get enough credit for demolishing McCain/Palin. I think they played a big part in the margins.

 

Gotta agree Phoebe - Fey did a better Palin than Palin!

 

There's an increasing trend of "comic" actors actually being good at serious performances; see Channing Tatum and Steve Carrell, for example.
