    I don't accept your premise.

Dr. Fauci is not a political operative.

And, it is Trump who has been disseminatig falsse statements at every single briefing he has held from when he first took over the briefings from medical science.

I agree Trump is doing a exceptional job of takig over. But, what he is doing to America is a lasting tragedy of fecklessnes and self interest.

It's impressive how far you will go to try to find excuses for Trump's abject failure in the face of an American tragedy.

And, your atttempts to smear medical science are noted.

    Wow - what total nonsense!

Are you even slightly aware of how much of our money has been spent by acts taken by congress???

They represent us. They need to know how well we're fighting this pandemic, whether more is needed, how much longer our economy is likely to be in the toilet, whether we're making progress on testing, treatment, vaccines, etc.

They need to know where the roadblcoks are in case there are actions they can take to make a difference.

We've already borrowed about $3T due to COVID19 . That's about what it cost to conquer Afg and Iraq and sustain our presence through to the end of the Bush administration!!

Suggesting congress should ignore something of this magnitude in dollars and the wellbeing of citizens is just STARTLINGLY ridiculous.

The responsibility for that 3 Trillion disaster(also, we failed to conquer Afghanistan or Iraq, but this isn't the thread to bemoan military failures) lies with the governors and their medical experts and their 'science-led' approach. Which is currently getting people jailed.

So yeah, I have plenty of blame for this **** show and Trump gets maybe 15% of it. Because I, being the logic-ruled one looks at what other people actually did.

Many governors took an approach that clearly had nothing at all to do with science. And, the adjacency of the states means that states are strongly affected by policy in other states.

Besides, Trump has led the US to OPPOSE recommendations from science - undercutting governors and mayors across the US (such MI) and promoting the antiscience responses of states such as FL, GA, and others.

And, Trump hasn't provided federal level leadership on ANY of the federal level issues we have - issues that governors can' not address. Even travel issues are haphazzard at best - as the primary source of the disease was internal after a fairly short time, and no direction on travel across the US (or most of the world) has been discussed.

The House did everything but ignore this tragedy. As soon as Pelosi left the meeting where the decision to close retail was made, she told her husband to invest in Amazon for a quick killing. At least this time she wasn't using her position to feast at the expense of Americans like she did when she held up swipe fee legislation while participating in the VISA IPO.

Yes, Democrats were all over COVID response.

I said NOTHING about this being a partisan failure. I said there is massive failure at the federal level.

Then YOU try to smear Pelosi for unrelated issues?? WTF?

This thread is about Dr. Fauci, our respect for medical science and our federal level response.

If you want to talk partisanship, how about Trump denying the House a hearing from Dr. Fauci and then OKing his testimony to the Senate and then SAYING it was a PARTISAN decision??

We already know what the House testimony was about. Behind closed doors so Schiff could rush to the cameras and lie about the testimony.
Fauci can answer questions in a forum that is transparent. I see Trump sniffed out NIH funding that went to Wuhan from 2014 on. Hopefully, Fauci will be able to answer questions in a transparent setting that the Democrats' hatred for Trump and disdain for America would not allow them to provide in the House.

LOL - let's get real for a moment.

Dr. Fauci's House testimony would have been given to a committee or committees that are fully bipartisan. So, your crap about someone lying is just disgusting. If there is any questioning during the testimony, Republicans would have just as much time as Democrats.

Trump blocked the testimony on the grounds that the House has a Democratic majority - he said it was because it was "Democrat".

Then, he permitted Dr. Fauci to testify in the Senate!! This is TOTALLY Trump introducing partisan politics in what HAS TO BE our national approach to COVID19.

As for the Wuhan lab, that God it was there. They have been doing amazing work in studying viruses - especially those that are incubated in bats. They've identified huge numbers of SARS type viruses (like the ones causing COVID19) that just haven't yet moved to the human population. They found why bats are good at that! They have found cases where humans in China became resistent to other SARS strains that nobody knew about, because they were in isolated communities (such as miners in some low population area) and thus had not come to light.

We should continue to make sure that lab is fully working as a WORLD priority. Their contribution will continue to be hugely important.

Let's not get silly, shall we? In case you didn't know, CONGRESS requested those returns TO INSURE THAT THERE WAS NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST with Dump dealing with foreign/domestic business.

Neither I or you hold congressional office, so no such public exposure is required, don't cha know.

Now Fauci and the Other 2 are going to testify "remotely".

    What "timing".

Imposing "self-quarantine" to get out of testifying in-person.

Great for the GOP and Trump.

Not as much chance for the Dems to "grandstand" with remote testimony.
