The legislative purpose on the Jan 6 committee was argued and confirmed by the courts. The same standard should apply to republican led committees, agree?

 

Well, at least we understand and recognize that what a LP is can be quite broad. I even understand that the GOP can distort it to fit the Hunter Biden BS within its orbit. If they want to annoy and alarm the voter by engaging in that nonsense, go right ahead.

Its funny how Democrats pretend that the Trump Admin was the first admin to ever challenge or try to refuse to comply with a subpoena from Congress. In point of fact there hasn't been a single President in our entire history that has NOT ever refused to comply with a congressional subpoena until the courts intervened. Even George Washington refused some. Obama even refused and fought a subpoena from Congress in regards to Fast and Furious for 2 years until the courts ordered him to comply. Bush refused to comply with subpoena's from Congress after several firings of US Attorney's. Bill Clinton defied subpoena's in regards to Whitewater for quite awhile.

I can go on and on. I can even give multiple examples for each of the named Presidents above.

Others aside from Presidents have resisted subpoenas from Congress also. For example Hillary Clinton's IT specialist Pagliano refused to comply with subpoenas from Congress also.

Plain fact of the matter is that there is a LONG history of people refusing to comply with Congressional subpoenas. A few end up never testifying, others are court ordered to do so, still others eventually acquiesce after initial defiance.

So, a Democrat (any) refusing to comply with subpoena's is not hypocritical. What IS hypocritical is pretending that doing such is not a common thing and hoot and holler about Republican's not complying with subpoena's as if such is unprecedented, and then turning around and encouraging Democrats to not do the same "because Republicans did it".
