Just gonna chuck a couple out, I'll obviously miss a lot of great artists.

    Television
    The Stooges
    Belle & Sebastian
    Joy Division
    Sun Ra
Grateful Dead (Live/Dead makes me happy :) )
    Bruce Springsteen
    Talking Heads
    A Tribe Called Quest
    Neil Young
Anything with Steve Albini (eg: Shellac)
The Allman Brothers Band (Side B of At Fillmore East... holy (*)(*)(*)(*). Dat improv.)
    Charles Mingus
    King Crimson
    Neutral Milk Hotel
    Return to Forever
    13th Floor Elevators
    Arcade Fire
    Beastie Boys
    Canned Heat
    The Beatles

Yeah and all the standard classic rock bands. Zep, The Who and all that. Real into jazz and improvisational blues. I'm a bass player so what do you expect.

    Pink Floyd
"I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set / I think I need a Lear jet"

Had the call sign "Pink" when I actually flew a Lear jet...sort of a tribute to arguably my favorite band...neck and neck
    with U2.

Ironically both bands are anti-war, anti-militarists...lyrically anyway.

    1 & 2 = PF and U2
3 = Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
4 = Handel (artist: classical composer)
5 = Brahms (artist: classical composer)
