Donald Trump is as ignorant as a high school dropout. He has the manners of a spoiled child.

If you have trouble reading this chart it proves that blacks raised in affluent families tend to score less well on the SAT than whites raised in poor families. This is due to a well understood genetic phenomenon called "reversion to the average." Exceptional characteristics are based on recessive genes that rarely match in the children of exceptional parents.

The tribal environment of sub Saharan Africa did not select genetically for characteristics important to civilization. This is why the results of the civil rights legislation and the War on Poverty have been disappointing.

 

When I said "the word republican has been debased", I meant by contemporary trumpublicans. I've always admired Sam Adams for his integrity and contributions to our revolution. Lincoln would be another good choice for "great political thinker", for his eloquence, his integrity that guided us through the Civil war. You seem broken already.

 

Sam Adams was a great revolutionary, but his crusty side, which was not unlike Donald Trump, was not well suited to building the nation after the revolution. Remember that one man’s revolutionary hero is another man’s rebel or, in Adams’ case, a rabble rouser.

Karl Marx believed that capitalism was good at creating wealth, but bad at distributing it. He believed that as time went on the class of employers would decline in size, while increasingly greatly in wealth. The class of employees would become increasingly impoverished.

When he wrote The Communist Manifesto factory workers were only allowed to vote in the United States. In the United States only white male factory workers were allowed to vote.

Consequently, Marx believed the socialist revolution would probably need to be violent, but it would still be democratic, because it would pit the overwhelming majority of a capitalist country against a very small minority. The new socialist government would have the popular, easy, and fun task of spreading the wealth around.

Toward the end of Marx's life voting rights spread to male industrial and farm workers, so Marx thought the achievement of socialism might occur peacefully through democratic elections.

In Russia there was no wealth to spread around. Even before the First World War and the ensuing Russian Civil War Russia was a poor country.

The Russian revolution was not the popular revolution Karl Marx predicted. It was a coup by a well organized, well armed minority of political fanatics.

If Marx had been able somehow to rise from his grave at Highgate Cemetery and visit Vladimir Lenin after Lenin seized power, I am confident he would have told Lenin that Russia was not ready for socialism and needed to pass through capitalism. Marx would have also condemned the dictatorial methods Lenin was using to stay in power.

Thereupon Lenin would have had Marx arrested and executed.

IMO, social policy should be grounded in thoughtful examinations of the often many factors involved.

 

Marx believed that there were only two "classes of mankind": A “working class” that was forced to sell its labor in order to survive. And the capitalists who exploit these proletarians. In total an over-simplified and false worldview.

Today, everyone who participates in the Western economic system is a capitalist. There's nothing bad about that. Marx only reflected on the signs of his time, but his conclusions are, on the whole, complete nonsense.
