Chinese studies: Japanese flu drug appears effective in treating COVID-19


Chinese medical authorities have said a Japanese drug called favipiravir, which is normally used to treat new strains of the flu, is "clearly effective" in treating COVID-19 patients, The Guardian reported Wednesday. It would still need government approval for full-scale use, but it also has a high degree of safety because it's already been used to treat flu patients. Some experts reportedly speculate approval could come as early as May. The Chinese studies, which tested 340 COVID-19 patients, have shown patients turned negative for the virus after a median of four days compared to 11 for those who were not administered the drug. Japanese clinical trials have so far found that the drug's effectiveness is not as strong in patients with more severe symptoms.

You don't know what you think you know. Stay at home and urge everyone you know to do the same.

 

Because of this action, I am out close to 5000/month. Car payments will be missed. Property taxes not paid. Health Insurance will be lost. Every spare penny will be for food, shelter, and heat. And maybe a bottle of Jack Daniels to wash away the sour taste in my head.
