Whomever the duopoly chooses for its two offerings, they will be the most divisive and least capable possible.

I have no issues with Gabbard myself, but she just hasn't really lit up my radar, and from what I can tell, neither has the core Democratic party found anything about her that generates excitement. One could say it may have to do with moderates being squeezed out of debates, but both parties are responsible for that.

However pinning this on Clinton's "deplorable" remark is silly, especially when Repubs have actually embraced that behavior, Jan 6th being the very definition of it.

Those "one or two" people sure seem to get around this forum quite a bit because the only place I keep hearing her name come up as a potential candidate is on PF. Maybe it's the Incels in our midst.

I'm afraid the comparison to January 6th is ridiculous. Sorry, but I can't take it seriously. But what I can take seriously is that even though it has nothing to do with the demonization of the opposition, you couldn't think of an example of a Republican (I mean Trump of course) insulting Democratic Party voters. Individual people, sure, but whole constituencies? Nope. He actually thought he could win over their votes, and he actually had a little success with that.

Well name the posters who are supporting her. If it's more than two, I'll be surprised.

Let's just agree to disagree on that one, because I have a tendency to believe what people do, not what they say they believe in. Because from my vantage point, Trump insulted whole swaths of people. Did you forget his continual assault on Latinos?

I don't care what goofiness or how many people are actually touting Owens, but I do see the absence of those on that same side of the aisle not correcting or challenging them, so that says a lot to me too. You being the exception, of course, with what you said earlier.

Well I can't account for every mention of Owens on this forum, but I've disagreed multiple times.

Both. He had pretty disparaging remarks against AOC and the squad.

AOC is an individual person, so are the members of the squad. What did he say about Latinos?

OK NOT Latinos, but just specifically Mexicans; foreign nationals.

(I was waiting for this example and I have a guess at the next one, which will be just as wrong but go ahead)

I'm sorry, I know that you guys on the left think foreigners are part of your voting constituency, but his speech was about illegal aliens. Now you can tell me no person is illegal or some Pablum.

It has nothing to do with "foreigners being a constituency", and everything to do with racist dog whistles from a presidential candidate.

Nor do I care to listen to any rationalizations about it. It is what he said and how he has acted along those lines is what matters.

Well you were supposed to provide examples that Trump was as guilty as Hillary for her "deplorables" remark and you failed, and sadly for me, you quit before you could use a few more inaccurate examples that I could debunk!

    I'm disappointed.

In any case, "racist dog whistles" is BS. I realize you guys on the left believe in it, but it's just your fantasy to make yourself feel better when you don't have facts but you do have feelings and want to treat your feelings as just as legitimate as someone's exact words.

    They are not.

I agree. Even Donald Duck would have won the election to get rid of Donald Trump. :D

    That wasn't a lie, just incompetence. :(

Joe had also some bad luck so far. If he doesn't pull himself together and the Republicans field a serious candidate (not a Trump!) in the next election, Joe could possibly be a one-termer like DJT.

I'm German, not American, but I feel for you. I also have relatives in the USA who share your concerns.

We here in Germany also have left (Die Linke) and right (AfD) extremists in our federal parliament. But luckily they're just minorities.

I wish my American brothers and sisters that they may soon overcome their political division. :)
