I sometimes spend a *lot* of time researching an issue and writing a post. In the last few months (maybe since the new format) I've found that my link is invalid. Like this one: http://www.politicalforum.com/3874702-post383.html which was a post on SS and effect on poverty rates and the elderly, which is not a bad link. This is very frustrating because it means I've lost all that time I spent researching. Is this a new practice or will be ongoing? Obviously I need to find another system if I cannot link to my posts.
I did a google search for the post, and found what appears to be the post, linked to this thread. http://www.politicalforum.com/curre...yrolls-disappoint-add-38-000-jobs-may-13.html But when I clicked on it, I got an invalid thread message. Are the posts and threads being erased?

This seems to be the case for many older threads and posts I had linked. Are the posts and threads being erased?
It seems that any threads created prior to May 2012 no longer exist on this site as you can notice by going to the last pages of debate topics and it may be related to the site upgrade.
That would be an explaination. Though I wished someone would have announced they were going to do this before my links to posts of many hours of research where elimated.
I will ask. Do you, by any chance, keep bookmarks on your data? Not sure, but it may be something you could use as an alternative. Older stuff is being archived here, so that may be the problem. Sorry.
It works for me, although some links (older articles) are often archived by the original source, and may not be available after a period of time. Happened to me several times. For the most part, if its important, I do bookmark certain things from various sources, just to make sure. I let you know if I find out about any reason for this site itself.
