Yes, it is true.....you thinking it isn't true doesn't make it so....and , of course, you can't show how it's not true.

Because woman have choices as to whether they get pregnant or not while the babies (fetuses) do not.

So their rights should be taken away ??!!!! WHAT TF ???

No, fetuses can't get pregnant even if they choose to...and no way to make any other choice. And it is not a person with rights, a woman is.

Rape, incest, failure rate of prophylactic methods - these are not choices.

Plus, there can be problems with pregnancy as well as other healthcare issues where terminating a pregnancy is a life saving solution.

We see states enacting laws today that FAIL to recognize any of these issues.

The person who needs to be the decision maker is the woman, informed by her doctors - NOT the local prosecutor.

very few pregnancies result from rape or incest.

That's not a valid way of looking at the issue.

There are many reasons why women can need abortions.

You can't single out individual cases and say there aren't that many of that specific reason, so it's fine to impose harsh laws that those women must suffer.

For example, you can't single out cases of cancer while pregnant, and then say BFD, there just aren't that many. And, then single out cases of fetal death, and say BFD, there aren't that many of those cases.

As for rape and incest, we know those crimes have an exceptionally low reporting rate, and there is no real way for government to know whether the crime occurred or not.

Not our problem. If women don't report the cases one might say it is "their choice".

    What does "BFD" mean?

That is utter bs. There are reasons women do not report rape and incest. Our system is HORRIBLE when it comes to allowing women to safely report these crimes. For example, reports of incest by children lead to the breakup of the families that those children know they depend on. So, we end up with pregnancies in girls so young that they can be life threatening. Then, YOU say you don't care!!

The low reporting rate for crimes of rape and incest is problem that needs to be addressed, as it hides the seriousness of that form of crime in our society. When there is underreporting, there is no effort to address the problem. For example, it allows people like you to decide it doesn't even matter!

Using underreporting as an excuse for ignoring that crime is just not acceptable.

BFD means "big freaking deal", meant derisively.

Yes - your view is that the women in this position just don't matter to you!

I see that as a grossly disgusting position - one that our government at any level just can not be allowed to take.

    Women DO matter.

The error was in not recognizing the child in utero as a human being.

More than half of women oppose legalized abortion except in specific cases of imminent harm or death.

    No cite from you!!

Pew Research shows that 60% of Americans want abortion to be legal in all or most cases.
    https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...rtion-should-be-legal-in-all-or-most-cases-2/

Note that they find that 63% of women support that statement - not yours.

They also find that 56% of Catholics agree with that statement. The religion most opposed to abortion is evangelical Christians - a subset of protestants.

    Gallup's findings are similar:
    https://news.gallup.com/poll/393104/pro-choice-identification-rises-near-record-high.aspx

I was wondering if there is ANY POSSIBLE WAY of supporting your post.

But, I don't see your view being supported. I think you are just plain wrong.

Maybe you can actually cite something.

No, a fetus is a potential - not a person, and certainly not a citizen.

It's crystal clear that Americans don't agree with your contention.

Pregnancy can be lethal or damaging to the long term health of a woman.

Fetuses are clearly not always successful, sometimes with problems leading to short and painful existence.

The decisions that must be made are often without perfect information and with horrible horrible risk in all directions - cases like the woman in the news who had to choose between life saving chemotherapy and abortion.

The idea that legislatures and prosecutors should make these decisions, overriding the opinion of the woman, her religious beliefs and her doctors is just plain not acceptable.

If that were true, then every miscarriage is going to have to be investigated as a possible homicide, or possible reckless
endangerment case. Good luck with that considering there are literally millions in this country every year.

Its a sticky conundrum. To codify authority into the constitution and thus recognize an awareness of the parts of it that are inconvenient to the progressive agenda, or to allow that authority to go back to the states ...and thus recognize their authority to rule in a way that might be inconvenient to the progressive agenda.

...it was so much simpler when we could just rely on the SC to dictate to us our obligation to follow the progressive agenda. Damn objectivism keeps getting in the way! :angered:

What makes you think it would be my mother telling me anything?

I have sisters. Aunts, uncles and a huge flock of cousins.
