Here's one republican that will answer you. We are all "addressing the issue". You just have a closed mind and closed ears. "There are none so blind as they that will not see" We ARE addressing it... we just don't agree with you so you can't see it. You only acknowledge those that agree with you. All others are irrelevant to your closed mind.

Why are we spending BILLIONS defending Ukraine's borders while leaving our own wide open. ANSWER THAT! (Watch him not answer...)

Many people admire Putin. Did you know that Hitler was Time Magazine's "Man of the Year" before he invaded Poland? Admiring the military and political acumen of such people is NOT APPROVAL. Hitler was a thug... but he was adept enough to conquer Europe. Putin is also a thug. But similarly, a politically adept thug.

Russia is unable to conquer Ukraine. It can't even achieve air superiority over Ukraine... a nation essentially devoid of an air force. There is no way Russia would be foolish enough to attack NATO.

So there bubba... a Republican that is "addressing the issue".

    Versteh? Get it? Understand?

Republicans in Texas took control of a woman's body when she became pregnant. In doing so these politicians overruled the woman's doctor.

ABC reports, "Texas' Supreme Court on Monday ruled against a woman who sued for an emergency abortion in her home state, overturning a lower court’s ruling last week.

"Kate Cox, 31, filed a lawsuit after she said she was denied an abortion for a pregnancy with a severe anomaly.

"In its opinion, released Monday night, the Texas Supreme Court acknowledged that Cox’s pregnancy "has been extremely complicated" and "parents would be devastated to learn of their unborn child’s trisomy 18 diagnosis." In its opinion, though, the judges wrote that "ome difficulties in pregnancy, however, even serious ones, do not pose the heightened risks to the mother the exception encompasses. The exception requires a doctor to decide whether Ms. Cox’s difficulties pose such risks. [Cox’s doctor] asked a court to pre-authorize the abortion yet she could not, or at least did not, attest to the court that Ms. Cox’s condition poses the risks the exception requires."

    This should make you sick.

It would appear that the Republican Party has a key ally -- Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Republican leader has always enjoyed a cozy relationship with Putin. "President Donald Trump on Monday publicly sided with Russian President Vladimir Putin over his own intelligence agencies, refusing to condemn the Kremlin for interference in the 2016 election," Politico, Helsinki, July 16, 2018.

I don't deal in fantasies or denial of reality. I deal in fact such as reported here.

NPR reports, "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Washington on Tuesday to make a last-ditch push to convince Congress to approve more U.S. weapons and aid for his country in order to push back against Russia's invasion.

"Zelenskyy met first with senators and top congressional leaders before heading to the White House for a meeting and press conference with President Biden.

"The visit comes at a critical moment. The White House says it will run out of money to support Ukraine by the end of the month. Biden has asked Congress for more than $60 billion in aid for Ukraine but has so far been rebuffed. Republican support has waned as the war has dragged on and they're tying support for additional funding to changes to border security. Congress is supposed to leave for the holidays in a matter of days."

The Russian dictator is cheering on the Republican Party. The GOP is siding with Putin in his war of aggression in Ukraine.

Republicans are using a complicated problem that has plagued the last ten Presidents to prevent funding for Ukraine's war against Russian aggression. The House passed HR-2, claiming that this highly partisan, "my way or the highway" bill will solve all our immigration problems. That is pure nonsense.

Because of its extreme partisan nature, HR-2 has no chance in the Senate. Even some Senate Republicans oppose it. H.R. 2 does nothing to address the root causes of migration,
reduces humanitarian protections, and restricts lawful pathways, which are critical alternatives to unlawful entry.

The Republican leader, Trump, is opposed to our financial assistance to Ukraine, and HR-2 is an excuse designed to support Putin's goals in Ukraine.

Trump is not known for his shrewdness in foreign relations, and he admires Putin. By allowing Russian aggression in Ukraine, there is something neither he nor Republicans have thought about.

How much will it cost the United States if Putin attacks a NATO country? Poland or the Baltic States, for example? Attack one, the attack is against all.

I don't expect the forum's Republicans to address these issues.

Why is the Trump Supreme Court weighing in on a drug that has been in use by millions for over twenty years, and was approved by the FDA twenty-three years ago?

The Answer. Republicans want to control a woman's health once she becomes pregnant. Her wishes and the prognosis of the woman's doctor do not count.

Follow-up questions. What's next? What else do Republicans want to control? Why do they want to impose their beliefs on all Americans?

I am not making this up. I wish I were.

Upon urging from the Republican A.G., the Texas judges, despite the critical nature of the pregnancy, ruled that Kate Cox could not get an abortion.

Next, the Trump court is taking up a case involving a popular drug that deals with women's health and has been is use a long time.

The Post reports, "The Supreme Court will decide this term whether to limit access to a key abortion drug, returning the polarizing issue of reproductive rights to the high court for the first time since the conservative majority overturned Roe v. Wade last year.

"The Biden administration and the manufacturer of mifepristone have asked the justices to overturn a lower-court ruling that would make it more difficult to obtain the medication, which is part of a two-drug regimen used in more than half of all abortions in the United States. Oral arguments will likely be scheduled for the spring, with a decision by the end of June, further elevating the issue of abortion, which has proven galvanizing for Democrats, during the 2024 campaign season."

A decision by the end of June, right smack in the middle of the election season. Republicans will not find that encouraging. They may be cursing Trump all the way to the ballot box.

Republicans in the House want to impeach our President. Impeach him for what, one might ask? Republicans don't know.

CNN reports, "House Republicans voted Wednesday to formalize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden as their investigation reaches a critical juncture and right-wing pressure grows.

"In a 221-212 vote, all GOP members supported the resolution to formalize the inquiry.

"Up until this point, House Republicans had not had enough votes to legitimize their ongoing inquiry with a full chamber vote. The probe has struggled to uncover wrongdoing by the president, which is why it hasn’t garnered the unified support of the full GOP conference. Note: Republicans did not provide one piece of evidence that our President did anything wrong.

“I think it’s a realistic approach,” GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida said. “I don’t think we have the votes to impeach anyone.”

"Indeed, moderate GOP Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, who supports authorizing an impeachment inquiry, said that “more likely than not,” Republicans will not end up bringing articles of impeachment against the president because the evidence will not raise to the bar of high crimes and misdemeanors, the standard for impeachment.

"Hunter Biden defied Republican investigators’ subpoena for closed-door testimony and reiterated that he is willing to testify publicly as part of the GOP-led investigation into the president.

“I am here to testify at a public hearing, today, to answer any of the committees’ legitimate questions,” Hunter Biden said in his first public statement since being criminally indicted twice."

Why are Republicans opposed to Biden testifying publicly? Why do they want his deposition taken behind close doors?

Republicans are starting proceedings to invoke contempt of Congress against Hunter Biden.

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) criticized Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), saying he is an “absolute hypocrite” for threatening to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena. Jordan did the same thing.

Any response from the forum's Republicans to these issues? Probably not. Easy to see why they avoid mentioning their party. It's embarrassing.

According to Gallup, only 32% of Americans approve of our President's handling of the economy.

The Hill reports, "The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit an all-time high Wednesday, surpassing 37,000 for the first time."

The Dow set another record today!

    Yahoo!
reports, "US stocks rose on Thursday as interest rate sensitive areas of the market rallied in the wake of the Federal Reserve's pivot to more rate cuts in 2024.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose 0.4% or more than 150 points, while the S&P 500 (^GSPC) popped over 0.2%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) added 0.2%. The Dow Jones set a new all time high for the second-straight day.

The forum's Republicans no longer tell us about how "terrible" the Biden economy is!

Not one thread from them about the economy.

Now they avoid talking about Trump, their own party, and the economy. All they can talk about is the impeachment of our President once they figure out what they are going to impeach him for. So, they don't talk about that much, either.

That, of course, explains why they say nothing at all.

Donald Trump said Sunday he has decided against testifying. “I will not be testifying on Monday,” Trump wrote in an all-capital-letters on his Truth Social.

Rudy Giuliani repeatedly promised that he would use his defamation trial to explain why he falsely claimed two Georgia poll workers helped steal the 2020 election. Instead, he went silent in court, refusing to testify.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why these two didn't want to testify once it came to fish or cut bait time and the BSing is over.

    That's too bad.

During his third trip to Iowa this month, Donald Trump warned that if he was not elected president in 2024, the U.S. would see its economy plunge into a “1929”-era depression. His words arrived as the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a record high Wednesday.

I have been trying for months to get Trump's followers to explain why they support Trump.

As this thread shows, they simply are unable to do so.

"President Trump famously declared during his 2016 campaign that he loved the “poorly educated” because voters with lower levels of schooling delivered an overwhelming share of votes to him," the conservative Washington Times."

ABC reports, "Friday marks one month until the 2024 Iowa caucuses, the official start to the Republican presidential nominating process. But the primary has been carrying on unofficially for nearly a year now — and in some ways, it is basically already over.

"According to 538's average of national polls, as of Dec. 15, former President Donald Trump leads the primary race with 61 percent. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley are essentially tied for second at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively. Trump also leads by at least 25 percentage points in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. And when you consider Trump's wide lead alongside how little time remains until voting actually begins, he now looks almost inevitable. Unless a historically unforeseen event happens, Trump is overwhelmingly likely to be his party's nominee next year.

"Since August, Trump has consolidated significant support from GOP voters, and that has raised his probability of winning the primary. His 61 percent in the polls now equates to a more than 9-in-10 chance of winning the nomination.* No presidential candidate in history has lost the nomination while being so far ahead in the national polls this late in the cycle."

I have been following Presidential elections for over five decades. This is, without a doubt, the strangest election I have ever seen. Disregarding campaign rallies, the leading Republican candidate avoids the public, and his followers avoid him (see thread titles by Trump Republicans and this thread).

The Republican Party leader, and the overwhelming choice to become the Republican nominee for President is facing 91 felony counts contained in four criminal indictments.

Trump has been declared guilty in a civil fraud trial in New York. The trial continues so it can determine how much he will pay and whether or not he can continue to do business in the state of New York.

Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has been found guilty of fraud and must pay $148M. The plaintiffs won't get much. Giuliani is broke.

The Democratic Party has given Americans the popular Obamacare. The Republican Party has been trying for years to eliminate the popular health care program, while taking control of the health of pregnant women after their justices voided Roe v. Wade. In doing so, Republican politicians overruled the advice of doctors in many cases. https://www.npr.org/sections/health...788/texas-abortion-ban-supreme-court-kate-cox

The Russian dictator is cheering on the Republican Party. The GOP is siding with Putin in his war of aggression in Ukraine. Republicans are tying support for additional funding to highly partisan changes to border security that have a zero chance in the Senate.

Former President Donald Trump narrowly leads President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 presidential rematch, a new national Wall Street Journal poll finds, with Biden weighed down by relatively soft support among “disaffected Democrats." 47% of registered voters in the US currently say they’d support Trump and 43% say they’d support Biden, with 10% still undecided.

Those supporting Trump don't say a word about their candidate. Perhaps they can't. Maybe they are computer challenged.

That is the only explanation I can come up with.

CNN reports, "Homebuilder confidence improved in December as mortgage rates continued to fall, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index released Monday.

"Builder confidence in the market for newly built single-family homes rose for the first time in four months, climbing to 37 on the index, amid lower mortgage rates and improved economic data that have builders feeling more optimistic heading into 2024.

"The housing market appears to have passed peak mortgage rates for this cycle, and this should help to spur homebuyer demand in the coming months, with the HMI component measuring future sales expectations up six points in December,” said Robert Dietz, chief economist at NAHB, in a statement.

"The pessimism in builder confidence this fall has gone in the opposite direction of gains for the pace of single-family building permits and new construction housing starts," Dietz said.

Everyday, it seems, there is more good news about the economy.

I think I know why Republican voters avoid Trump and don't say much about their party

But I am getting ahead of myself.

Trump's support comes from the rural counties of America, which explains his large popularity in Iowa, a farming state. https://inthesetimes.com/article/20...ulism-peoples-action-win-rural-america-report

Then there is this factor."President Trump famously declared during his 2016 campaign that he loved the “poorly educated” because voters with lower levels of schooling delivered an overwhelming share of votes to him," the conservative Washington Times."

Now we come to Trump. This is absolutely surreal.

CNN reports, "Donald Trump’s rhetoric dropped to a spine-tingling new low this weekend with less than a month before the Iowa caucuses.

"The GOP primary front-runner said migrants are “poisoning the blood” of the US and quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin about the “rottenness” of American democracy.

"Whipping up thousands of supporters at a New Hampshire hockey rink on Saturday, the former president again drew comparisons to the language of Nazi Germany with the comments about migrants from mostly Africa, Asia and South America “poisoning the blood of our country.”

ABC reports, "Trump has pleaded not guilty to the 91 charges he faces across four cases in three states and Washington, D.C.

"They're poisoning the blood of our country. That's what they've done," Trump said Saturday in Durham, New Hampshire. "They're coming into our country, from Africa, from Asia, over the world. They're pouring into our country."

"The former president, again, praised authoritarian leaders including Hungary's Viktor Orban, China's Xi Jinping and North Korea's Kim Jong Un -- and called President Joe Biden a "threat to democracy."

"Trump went on to quote Russia's president when calling the criminal cases pending against him "politically motivated."

Trump is an anarchist, and his popularity is growing within Republican ranks!

Therefore, his followers, who admire him, are fascist anarchists who prefer to remain silent about the issues. As this thread shows, Trump Republicans do not wish to disclose their political persuasion.

For those who are complaining about our President, are you saying you prefer Trump? As things stand now, there are only two choices.

Incidentally, is there anyone here who is biracial and a member of Trump's fan club? Trump just said biracial persons are poison, and Trump is experiencing greater support among Hispanics.

"They're poisoning the blood of our country."

Politico reports, "The Colorado Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Donald Trump is disqualified by the Constitution from serving as president again because he stoked an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.

"The 4-3 ruling, which rests on an interpretation of the 14th Amendment, will almost certainly force the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court to resolve whether Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican nomination, is eligible to hold future public office."

Elected by farmers and rural shopkeepers in the rural counties of America -- hence explaining his huge lead in Iowa, a farming state -- Trump is considered to be the worst President the country has ever had. He ended his term by leading an insurrection and stealing classified documents.

Trump is, indeed, an anarchist, setting out to destroy American politics and government.

Want proof? This thread, his followers choose not to defend him. They don't even talk about him.

Ignoring the fact that our President is not responsible for the war in Gaza, young Democrats oppose the President's handling of the war.

Actually, it can be argued that young Democrats are more of a danger to the Democratic Party than the Republican Party.

As an example, in 2016 young Democrats, disillusioned that their candidate, Bernie Sanders, didn't become the nominee, elected Donald Trump. Young Democrats are responsible for Trump. https://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-trump-2016-election-654320

CNN reports, "Only one-third of registered voters approve of President Joe Biden’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a new poll from The New York Times and Siena College finds, with young voters especially likely to express dissatisfaction.

"Biden’s overall approval rating stands at 37% among registered voters, according to the Times/Siena poll, with a slightly lower 33% approving specifically of his handling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Among voters younger than 30, his approval rating stands at 26% overall and 20% on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"A 54% majority of registered voters support the US providing additional economic and military aid to Israel, with 38% opposed. But voters say, 48% to 30%, that Israel is not taking enough precautions to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza.

"As CNN previously reported, tensions are mounting between the Biden administration and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over mounting civilian casualties in Gaza. Biden is under increasing pressure, domestically and internationally, to push Netanyahu away from the heavy bombardment of Gaza, which has sparked global outcry and calls for a sustained ceasefire."

Young Democrats continue their loyalty to Trump. "Asked whom they trust more to handle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict between Biden and former President Donald Trump, 46% of registered voters in the Times/Siena poll say Trump, 38% Biden," CNN.

Apparently, young Democrats want Trump to be our next President. There are only two choices right now, and they have made their intentions clear.

    Or, are they just confused?

Trump on Tuesday doubled down on his widely condemned comment that undocumented immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” rebuffing criticism that the language echoed Adolf Hitler by insisting that he had never read the Nazi dictator’s autobiographical manifesto," the Times.

Trump is arguing that he is not inspired by Adolf Hitler.

That is beside the point. He may not be inspired by Hitler, but he acts and sounds like Hitler.

That is the point, and his followers love him for it.

I believe him. To be inspired by Hitler, one has to read about Hitler. Trump is not much of a reader.

The framers of our Constitution never envisioned a President like Donald Trump.

Who could have imagined a President leading an attempt to overthrow the elected government?

Trump is, indeed, an anarchist beloved by his anarchistic followers who cheer him on and contribute to his legal coffers.

"They're poisoning the blood of our country. That's what they've done. They're coming into our country, from Africa, from Asia, over the world. They're pouring into our country. President Joe Biden a threat to democracy," Donald Trump.

Trump is charged 91 felonies in four criminal indictments. It is likely his criminal trials will take place in 2024. He is the Republican Party leader, and the leading Republican candidate in the 2024 elections in November.

Trump has caused our elections, our politics, and our government to be in total chaos, and divisions within our country are as deep as the divisions that caused the Civil War 165 years ago. Only an anarchist could cause this much damage to the American psyche. Trump is enjoying all this as is his followers.

Due to Trump's machinations, the courts will play a major role in the election process. It can be argued, the courts will have more of an impact on the results than the voters. That is just so wrong. Who is responsible for this? Obviously, Trump, and he is enjoying it all the way to the ballot box, providing he can legally vote, that is.

The Colorado Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Donald Trump is disqualified by the Constitution from serving as president again because he stoked an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.

In addition to Trump's criminal trials, the U.S. Supreme Court is weighing in on three issues involving Trump.

The nine justices have agreed to review the scope of an obstruction statute central to the federal indictment accusing Trump of plotting to overturn the 2020 election.

The Supreme Court could also determine as to whether or not Trump is above the law. In other words, if granted by the Court, Presidential immunity would permit Trump to lead an operation to overthrow the elected government because he was President at the time. As luck would have it, Trump appointed three of the justices.

The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the decree by the Colorado Supreme Court that Trump is ineligible to run for President.

    This is total anarchy!

Trump's support comes from the rural counties of America, which explains his large popularity in Iowa, a farming state. https://inthesetimes.com/article/20...ulism-peoples-action-win-rural-america-report

Republicans know all this, and they remain silent. Apparently, they agree with Trump.

More solid evidence that our former President is an anarchist to the delight of of his followers who shall remain silent. Trump is creating the kind of legal chaos he so desires.

CNN reports, "Donald Trump’s request to the Supreme Court on Wednesday was perhaps his most brazen delay tactic yet.

"He urged the high court not to get involved right now in the question of whether he is immune from federal prosecution for alleged crimes committed while in office – his latest attempt to ask the legal system to effectively bend to his political will.

"The move echoed what Trump’s legal strategy has been in all of his criminal cases to date – to delay the proceedings, ideally beyond the 2024 election."

The question is, will the Supreme Court justices-- three of whom, as luck would have it, were appointed by Trump -- comply with the former President's wishes, and will they declare that Trump is above the law.

Reuters reports, "Donald Trump transformed the U.S. Supreme Court during his four years as president. Now the 6-3 conservative majority he cemented will confront a handful of cases that may determine whether the Republican can reclaim the White House.

"The court is poised to play an outsized role in the 2024 presidential election by hearing disputes over Trump's role in the run-up to a Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol in which his supporters tried to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden's election victory.

"The politically explosive cases have the potential to once again thrust the country's highest court into the election limelight almost a quarter-century after its fateful 2000 ruling effectively handed the White House to Republican George W. Bush."

"The nation’s highest court is poised to consider next year whether Trump can be prosecuted for crimes committed after the 2020 election and whether the actions he took in office can bar him from being on the ballot again in 2024," CNN.

It’s just the kind of chaos Trump thrives on as he tries to find a way to turn the tables around into financial gain. His sycophants -- meaning his followers -- are happy to pay his legal expenses. Trump needs the cash. He is facing four criminal trials.

Unbelievable, but true, through all of this, these followers who want to pick our next President, remain completely silent.

    No freaking way!

Typically, the Supreme Court is putting off an important decision. Their Holinesses will decide on Presidential immunity later. The Iowa caucuses are less than a month away, and the New Hampshire primary is a week later. Apparently the justices didn't think it was important for Republican voters to know if their leading candidate has immunity in his four criminal trials.

ABC reports, "The Supreme Court has denied special counsel Jack Smith's request to immediately take up former President Donald Trump's claims of immunity from prosecution in his federal election interference case.

"In a single-line order Friday, the court declined to grant a writ of certiorari before judgment -- meaning it will allow a federal appeals court to hear the matter first, which is what Trump's legal team had urged the court to do. (Because Trump's strategy is delay, delay, and the justices complied)

"The decision effectively keeps the court out of the case for now and could mean the case's March 4 trial date could be delayed."

The decision really has very little import. The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit could easily rule there is no Presidential immunity from insurrection and theft of classified documents as all other courts have ruled.

U.S. prices fell in November for the first in more than 3-1/2 years, pushing the annual increase in inflation further below 3%, and boosting financial market expectations of an interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve next March.

The report from the Commerce Department on Friday also showed underlying inflation pressures continuing to subside. Cooling inflation left more income at the disposal of households, helping to underpin consumer spending and the overall economy as the year winds down," Reuters.

"Biden, the oldest-over president, will head into 2024 with just 39% of Americans liking his job performance — a slight increase from the 37% he received in October and November, but still below the ratings of every chief executive at the end of their third year in office since Jimmy Carter was in the White House," N.Y. Post.

Go figure? No one is talking.
