1 would look for what is called a "systematic review" which is where they look at loads of research, critique ti, weight it and then look at the overall outcome

It is called Evidence Based Practice

The trouble is to truly evaluate all of this you have to have a solid grounding in the subject - which I is why journalists often get it wrong

    I have a saying

Do not confuse bad journalism with good science

That was part of my first complaints when Bush was hammered by the media. I felt it was a case of bad journalism vs little if any science calling for such stem cells. CA for instance leaped head first into this and from what I find, it produced nothing at all.

What's also undeniable is that its going to happen no matter what humans do.

    No scientist disputes that.

So what are you doing to plan for that eventuality?

Are you doing nothing and kicking the problem down the road to future generations?

Yep, in fact that is the exact plan of the alarmists....let's just hold it off long enough so we don't have to deal with it and let our children and their children be burdended with it.

How do you look at yourself in the mirror and still respect yourself?

No, the issue is that its coming, the ice will melt and sea levels will rise. That is the exact problem, not when it occurs, the fact that it will occur.

So like I said, you don't care about the problem that's coming you just don't want it to hit while your alive.

Screw everyone else who gets stuck with it huh?

    You are such a saint.

We have been having them say this over and over since at least 1990 and still the calamity they called for has not taken place. As some might say, put up or shut up. When the hell will this flood commence? 28 years of this prattle and still they show us no proof.

Logic isn't your strong suit huh?

YOU don't even want to deal with it to protect yourself and your kids.

Actually it wasn't even well known until after 2000 and the science was "settled" by 2004.

Everything after that has been Denier foot dragging

Sure I do but you guys don't, you just want it to go away so someone else can deal with it. I'd fully support beginning plans on how to divert or hold the sea back when it rises but not the left, nope, just delay it so it doesn't bother them is what their plan is.

That is just sad that you care so little for your fellow human beings that you are willing to burden them with this. In 100 years kids will ask why you guys didn't do anything to prevent the flooding when you knew it was going to happen and their parents will say, "well they were selfish, they just wanted to look after themselves, they didn't care that we were going to be flooded out."

I heard the final total will be around 6 ft. after we finally come out of this ice age which means the sea will push inland about 200 miles, where applicable.

And this will happen whether naturally or if we speed it up, the end result will be the same, its happened many times in the past.

But the left doesn't care as long as they can push it off so they don't have to deal with it.

I have asked them over and over when will they provide protection for this country and they ask me to cut back on carbon dioxide. Hell, if that worked, our reductions already would solve the problem. I say you have your hair on fire over this. So build us walls to block the ocean. Hell no they say, you quit producing a gas. I do not take them serious at all.

Huh? I posted this on page one [IMG] CO2 is a prime greenhouse gas

The Paris accord was meant to slow down the rising temperature. That thing that Trump withdrew from and called global warming a hoax.

Not really. If it were, you wouldn't have to take anyone's word for it. The only thing that's obvious is that the establishment media are determined to sell the general public on the idea that harboring any doubt is a thoughtcrime.

From which it is logical to deduce what, precisely?

Here's a better question: if we do something about it, how will we know that something had any effect?

The answer, of course, is that it won't matter, because as a consequence of these quixotic efforts we'll be locked into a global government by star chamber.
Then one cannot help but wonder what these alleged scientists have against rudimentary logic.
That's the only other possibility you can think of?
What you're conveniently forgetting is that scientists are no less corruptible than other mortals, most of whom don't necessarily require any truth at all to be convinced of anything.
    Because...?

In the end...we all die. Does that mean we should never go to the doctor?

The short answer to why no one wants to bother "debating" the so-called skeptics, who actually have no clue how skepticism actually works, is the same reason Richard Dawkins stopped debating creationists. It's a waste of time arguing with people who make a point of ignoring and dismissing facts, and embracing and espousing conspiracy theories instead.

You're looking for the result before the effort?

    Newsflash.

By changing from fossil fuels to renewables we have cleaner air and water...we end our reliance on corrupt oil states...we advance technology...

All that even if we fail to reduce Global Warming

    It's a no brainer

The Dutch did it with a brilliant system.

Good grief. Gore was parading this around when he was still VP. And you do not appear to know the so called facts.

No, it means that climate change is like a cancer that is going to get worse regardless of what we do so let's take steps to make that process as easy on us as possible, not to ignore it until it gets so bad its too late to do anything about it.

I have noticed that Trump fans have been unable to explain why they support Trump. This could be one reason.

I watched some Fox News today, Shepherd Smith. The stock market lost 2/3rds or more of its gains yesterday (after losing over 1100 points on Thursday and Friday), and Fox tried to put the blame on Facebook. Facebook was responsible for drastic losses on Wall Street? I don't think so, but the last thing Fox will do is blame Trump.

The fact remains, last Thursday Trump announced $60B in tariffs imposed on China, sparking a trade war. Trump decided not to exempt Japan from the steel and aluminum tariffs he announced on March 8. Unless Trump changes his mind, that means a trade war with both China and Japan.

    Beginning Thursday stocks plummeted.

    And it wasn't Facebook.
