Because we have a lot of people that are satisfied with less.

India has more people who are less satisfied. And so, more satisfied.

But seriously, why do you give power to the likes of Rupert Murdoch - who is an Australian?

Is it mere stupidity or does it involve faintly rational thought?

I still don't follow. Are you saying we should try to be like India, or that India is bad, or what?

countries like china and america are the hegemons of the world. the countries in green are fading in the background--become less and less relevant as the world passes them by.

I think its the water over here. Its got one part radioactive waste, one part actual recycled waste, one part sodium floride, and one part synthetic H20 with small particles of plastic.

Look at the map. India exceeds you on GINI coefficients.

I guess I'm not understanding why it matters. Why does this matter?

That's good because you'll sleep better at night, but I wasn't trying to convince you to not care, I'm just trying to figure out the significance of India's GINI coefficient vs the United States. Help me to understand your point of view, please. I'm really curious. Maybe I will learn something.

America is in the middle of a civil war yet none of those gun enthusiasts have marched on Washington waving pistols.

What a waste of the 2nd Amendment.

What do you mean by civil war? What are the teams? How does this tie into India's GINI coefficient vs the USA's GINI coefficient?

It doesn't. I shifted the argument because you were clearly getting confused. But in case you're wondering, America's rich screw you more than India's rich screw Indians.

And are you telling me you have no tyrants to wave pistols at?

If so, why do you have a constitutional right to wave pistols? Is it just a late 18th century joke?

I had to stop reading your post as soon as republicans were mentioned. to suggest that democrats are better is really naive. circus controls left and right sides. Hillary the main anti war candidate actually voted for Iraq war, Obama voted to keep it going/funding. so get over your illusions.

Nov 2 looms. And Americans gnash their teeth about how to vote against their best interests.

I have rarely seen a more entertaining circus.

This is becoming a question of even more pertinence than it was when first posted.

The American is a unique animal in that it votes for politicians who not only do not have their interests at heart, but are positively Anti-American.

Are Americans simply stupid or is there some logic to this?

If the latter, what is it?

Well... I don't know about that....

India is pretty awful when it comes to poverty and class discrimination. The U.S. isn't exactly a bastion of class equality, but we also don't have a several millennia old legacy of following a caste system.

I understand the point you're getting at, but you just shouldn't use India as an example here.
